Alchemy Bar

We LOVE Alchemy! Not only do the "mixologists" know how to make drinks to your liking, it's the place we go to meet people. We've met some great friends at the Alchemy bar. We also enjoyed their Martini class during one of the last sea days. They teach you many of their tricks all while getting to make and sample drinks. It's a lot of fun with great people. Usually the class is about 10 people.

I'd at least give it a try! We find it to be the best value for an alcoholic beverage.

My husband is extremely bummed that we will be missing Alchemy on our Breeze cruise next month.

My bar tab has gone up significantly since sailing with Alchemy my last 2 cruises.

The first time I sailed on an ship with Alchemy, the mixologists wouldn't let me order off menu, learned my tastes, and everything was fantastic. In fact, when I insisted on ordering off the menu, they'd tweak to my tastes specifically -- it was awesome!

In addition, it's just a fun, friendly place to be. Looking forward to spending all my booze money there again this year!:D

I, too, didn't get the hype on paper. Until my last cruise. I was feeling pretty nauseous (when I drink the motion suddenly gets to me) and my fiancé had heartburn and we were both planning on dinner at the MDR and then going back to the cabin we were feeling so bad. We got talked into going to the Alchemy bar to see if we could be "cured" (I didn't believe it would work but played along to be polite).

First of all, it really is an experience talking to them about what you like and how you're feeling and they come up with something for you. My drink required something being lit on fire so we even got a little bit of a show.

Second of all, IT WORKED. We wound up feeling SOOOOOO much better. It cleansed our pallets from a day of drinking beers and sugary cocktails by the pool. We wound up partying with friends until almost 4am that night.

We are getting married on a cruise ship in September and we loved the Alchemy bar so much that we have decided not to have toasts at our reception. Instead we are directing guests to join us at the Alchemy bar for drinks and toasts before dinner.

My hubby & I have really enjoyed the Alchemy bar on multiple ships. You tell the mixologist what you like & they will create something for you. It's especially fun when they set it on fire. Hubby is more of a beer guy, so he enjoyed having his "custom made" drink. The staff has always been very personable - just a nice place to go for a before dinner or after dinner drink. They're a bit higher than some of the other bars, or maybe it's just the type of drinks they are making, but we still love it.

Love the Alchemy Bar. It provides such a break from sugary drinks and beer.

It is more of what bars used to be, where the bartenders get to know you and create craft cocktails to your specific tastes. I get it may not be for everyone but it is my favorite venue on Carnival ships.

And as previously mentioned....definitely talk to the mixologists and be adventurous. The best drinks I've had there are usually off menu!

Are those kind of the prices for cocktails at other bars?

I'm usually a vodka gal or wine gal but I certainly don't object to a great rum runner or mojito now and then.

Those prices are outdated. Alchemy drinks were $10.50 on my last cruise..but they come with premium liquor. Drinks are probably a couple dollars less at other bars with lower end liquor. And they always have a drink of the day type of thing at other bars that is cheaper. What is posted is only half of the alchemy menu. Here is the full menu:

I loved the alchemy on our last cruise. The bartender got to know me and what I liked. I started at the top of the menu and went down and tried a lot of the drinks. Then he started making up drinks for me. It was so fun. We went everyday on our cruise. I would even get up from playing in casino to go get me a drink then come back to the Casino. Alchemy drinks were much better than the drinks from the casino bar!!!

  • 10 months later...
So if I like a drink that always seems to stump the bartenders, will this be the place to go? My brother is a bartender and got me hooked on the Ramos Fizz. I always get strange reactions when I ask for it here in CA.
