Giantfan13 Posted February 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2017 We have a cruise booked on the Jewel of the Sea in November (Transatlantic) with a very good price, booked thru an online TA. Now RCI is running this WOW sale where I can get $200 OBC, but I would have to rebook at a higher rate. Overall, I would be paying about $150 more in price to get $200 OBC. On paper it sounds like a win win situation, but I was just looking for advice if this is a smart thing to do? Cheers Len
molly361 Posted February 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2017 You might want to check to see if the agency charges a fee to re-price your booking
Clarea Posted February 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2017 As long as you are sure that you won't be losing anything else, such as some other OBC you have from your existing booking, and you can use the extra $50 OBC, then I'd go for it. Newbcruiser1 Posted February 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2017 One other thing to consider is what you will spend the OBC on! There are some things that are cheaper if pre-purchased online pre-cruise (I.e. Internet package). If you plan on using your credit for those things, you might be better off keeping your existing booking/price. I ran into a similar issue with my upcoming Freedom TA - it's about $175 more now but includes the $200OBC. I am personally keeping my other price for the reason I stated, as well as the fact that I am hopeful the price may drop down the road before the fall (in which case I would lose the OBC from the WOW sale).
