Anthomaniac Posted February 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2017 When your in port for the day can you bring drinks back on the ship in your carry on? Yes, per carnival website you can bring cans of non_alcoholic beverages back on board. Usually limited to a 12-pack. ... Does this apply to bringing bottled beverages on board in ports of call too? A. Yes. In port,*a*small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard as well as Carnival branded bottled water previously purchased onboard. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. SadieN Posted February 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2017 At the beginning of the drink restrictions it was really draconian for bringing beverages back from various ports. They wouldn't store non-alcoholic beverages. Now they are allowing sodas etc onboard. Have had no issues with soda cans and juice cartons. Our experiences have been on the Mexican Riviera, YMMV. SNJCruisers Posted February 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Getting a 12 pack of soda is real easy in St Thomas, right at the Havensight mall grocery store or on Grand Turk, right in the duty free shop as you enter the complex. Or at the CVS on the main drag adjacent to the ship's in San Juan. Other ports can be a little more difficult, and you'll pay more for the soda. cruisingfor5 Posted February 15, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Thank you. We won't have time before getting on the ship to grab some things but we have a port day the next day so we were hoping to pick up a couple of non alcoholic drinks for the ship. h_blond2 Posted February 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 15, 2017 We've always brought a few sodas back on the sip with us with no problems.
teknoge3k Posted February 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Despite someone else saying "no", YES you CAN bring alcohol back on with you. If you buy a bottle in port somewhere, bring it back but they will hold it for you until the end of the cruise. You can't take it back to your stateroom. Also as others said, yes you can bring a 12pk of soda back on board with you as well.
Kanyon71 Posted February 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted February 15, 2017 On our last cruise my mother in law bought a 12 pack of Diet Pepsi while we were in the port and they gave her no issues bringing it back on.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted February 16, 2017 #16 Share Posted February 16, 2017 What is the alcohol allowance to carry on? Do you mean at a port or at the beginning of a cruise? While I can't quote the beginning of the cruise it is a 750ml bottle of wine or champagne by an adult at embarkation. As far as I know, you cannot bring any back to your cabin at ports (other than med cruises). Sent from my iPhone
easyboy Posted February 17, 2017 #17 Share Posted February 17, 2017 What is the alcohol allowance to carry on? No alcoholic beverage is allowed on embarkation day, except wine or champagne. Alcoholic beverage purchased in ports will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage.
