Yesterday Judith tripped on the ramp to the balcony door. I was too far behind her to help and she sort of slammed backward into a closet door and the handle. Her back, which always gives her problems, is really sore today, So she is taking it easy today!

I brought her breakfast but she was on the computer, not in bed.

Thanks Jim, looking forward to this in just over 2 weeks. I'm thinking the $15pp on line charge is to ensure that people show up for their reservation and that price is deducted from the cost of your dinner on board.

Me too Ken and I'm just fine with that. I could recite my order right now!

I had some sad memories awakened yesterday when we walked by the Freedom of the Seas. The "little balcony" in the photo is the one that I scattered my last Wife, Carol's, ashes from.DSCN1158_zpshbppe2ju.jpg

I have kept a subscription to the thread I wrote during my only solo cruise book marked and from time to time I re-read it, especially on her birthday and the anniversary of the day she died.

Judith and I both lost spouses to cancer but we are lucky that we are able to easily talk about our past relationships with each other. They were part of our individual pasts and we are constantly reminded of them and able to share past experiences and memories with each other openly.

Here is a link to the thread. I re-read it again last night! Caution, it you decide to read it have some Kleenex handy.

On our tour yesterday we drove by a memorial to the Black Slaves, know as "Salt Pickers", brought to the Island from Africa many years ago.

The memorial is in the center of a "Round-About" and our driver circled it while I shot photos.

The Island does not have good soil for plantations but for awhile salt was manufactured by allowing high tides into a contained area and then allowing the sun to evaporate the water. The slaves picked up and bagged the salt for use on the island and export.DSCN1191_zpseiovrsb1.jpg

Today, the remnants of the old salt pond are slowly being filled in to create more dry land on the island.

That picture of the shoppers looks like downtown Philipsburg. We take the water taxi over there when we stop in St. Martin. I see the "M" for McDonald's. We're usually tired of "ship food" by that stop and always have lunch there. Cheeseburgers and fries never tasted so good!

Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Here is a nice view of Central Park that shows why we will never have an inside balcony on Central Park or the Board Walk.

No Privacy!

If you scratch your butt you can expect the video to be up on YouTube in minutes!

Don't understand why anyone would get an inside balcony to have this view. Trainman, have you seen any of the fancy margarita glasses they sell. We were on the Anthem last November & I didn't see any.

Ally sent me the comments on the Adventure Ocean program below by email. I am posting them with her permission.[/quotte]

Sadly we had a similar experience on Allure. I don't understand why they don't have staff solely devoted to check in and out like Disney and Ncl.

We have tried three different ships and found them all under staffed. And we are pretty relaxed on our expectations.

Disney's and NCL were both much better staffed and they actually did the activities listed in program.

Ally sent me another email with an update on her adventures with Adventure Ocean.

The manager of AO called me at 930am to ask about last night's events. I advised her of the chaos I've witnessed the last 3x and theridiculous "you must bring her shoes NOW" dibacle.

She was nothappy and agreed her employee should not have insisted I interrupt my eveningto bring shoes when the area is carpeted, Lyric was already there, and theymake them keep their shoes off anyway! She wasn't happy to hear I then hadto wait 25 minutes because they'd already taken her to the puppet show wherethey lock the doors so I couldn't give her her shoes anyway and that by then Iwas so annoyed from the wasted wait I just pulled her out 2 hours early ratherthan have to go back an hour later, so it ruined both our individual plans forthe evening.

She was very unhappy to hear that I've twice seen littlegirls crying with no workers noticing or having time to tend to them since theyare understaffed or the pushing, hitting and kicking between the boys, alsounnoticed and undetered. She said there were supposed to be 4 workersthere. There were only 2. There have only been 2 every time I've walkedin and 20-30 kids.

That being said, she apologized profusely and said she'doffer us free late night care (you pay after 10pm) the remainer of the cruiseif I chose to use it. I hadn't yet. Last night would have been thefirst as I had casino plans.

Lyric, thankfully, has enjoyed her times in there, as I toldthe manager, and wanted to go back this morning until pool time. Afterpicking her up at 11:30 am we were pleasantly surprised to find an AdventureOcean gift back pack in our cabin! It is full of fun activitybooks, an art set, troll slap bracelets, a cool red cap (just happens to be herfavorite color) water bottle, RCCL towel and more!

Kudos to the manager of Adventure Ocean! Shedefinitely responded accordingly and then went above and beyond to make up forsouring both our evenings.

I really appreciate the acknowledgement andkindness.

Ten stars!

This is the first time I have seen people playing cards on the low table while sitting on the front edge of the Adirondack chairs in the smoking area.

Everyone has been complaining about the. Most agree that they are comfortable once you are settled in but tough to get out of.
