cruisincorgi Posted February 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Hello. Thinking about a cruise out of Port Canaveral next year. Never sailed from this port. Any recommendations on transportation from Orlando to the port. Thanks. Much appreciated.
CruiserBruce Posted February 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2017 If you look down the board, there are several recommendations for shuttles, like Cortrans.
Clarea Posted February 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Hello. Thinking about a cruise out of Port Canaveral next year. Never sailed from this port. Any recommendations on transportation from Orlando to the port. Thanks. Much appreciated. If you are spending the night before the cruise in the port area, consider a one-way rental car. There are several agencies in the port area that have free shuttles to the cruise terminals.
Canadian Tyler Posted February 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2017 I second the rental car recommendation. Often cheaper than a shuttle and nice to have a way to get around. For the way back to MCO, we used Cortrans. It was $20 pp and we were at the airport by 9am - great service.
SteerageJoe Posted February 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2017 There are many options but the choice depends on whether or not you will arrive on the morning of your cruise or a day or two before. After the cruise, will you fly out around mid-day or later in the day? For example, early, a shuttle is recommended. For later flights, do a rental car so you have safe storage for your luggage while you explore a bit.
SarahD112 Posted February 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2017 One way rental cheapest option. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
JohninDC Posted February 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2017 We also typically use a one-way rental but prefer to stay in Orlando pre-cruise --- 1000's of hotels in every price range and lots to see/do. Post cruise, unless your flight leave after about 2:00 you do not have time to mess around with a rental -- choose one of the popular shuttles like Cocoa Beach Shuttle, Travelynx or Cortrans. fares start at about $20+ per person one way between PC & MCO

But with kids or just sight seeing you're right, there is a ton of things to do and see. We booked our first fly snooze cruise package with www.goportcanaveral.com when we were just looking to get transportation. I've heard a ton of bad things about traffic around the port and it was bad on feb 5th when we were going on the Oasis. We ended up getting the package and it paid off, was a wonderful stay in Cocoa Beach and still had to fight traffic but we got there fairly quick. Edit: And if you are just looking for transportation they also offer it for $15 each way Edited February 23, 2017 by WickedGlitch forgot something
