The Captain announced a few minutes ago that the USCG has asked the Harmony to participate in an Ocean Rescue with "another vessel."

We should be there in about 90 minutes, around 2:30 pm EST

Passengers have been asked to stay off Deck 5 during rescue operations.,

The crew is starting to tie down the deck chairs on Deck 16 because of the wind!

The Captain said he does not know at this time if the rescue operations will force a change to our arrival time at Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas tomorrow.

This is all that we have been told at this time.

More later...

Note to self: buy a crappy sailboat and get stuck in the Bahamas [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

As you all know is is often almost impossible to understand the announcements. What I, and several others, understand it that it is a small sailboat that capsized and has mostly righted itself.

The upper decks were a mad house and I was lucky that when I politely asked, people let me in front to shoot a few photos.

The Rescue Boat has been in contact with the sailboat and is now returning to the ship. We appear to be returning to a course that till take us to our next port.

I have no clue what is going on or if the crew of the sail boat will board the Harmony.

Just dropped fuel via rescue boat. The distressed sailboat in question is continuing on its journey.

The captain did say they took them out a few pizzas as well. :)

Lots of cheers from for the rescue team

from the starboard side from us on the ship.

Doing 23.3 knots towards St. Thomas. Hope to make it there by our scheduled 10am arrival tomorrow morning.

Wow, that was nice of Harmony to send Pizza and fuel! How thoughtful of the Captain!

I too would love to be rescued by the Harmony, if ever stranded at sea. :)

Thanks for the photos Trainman! Glad to hear that you are all back on your way again!

Thanks for the information and the photos @Trainman-2. Glad to hear that everyone is safe. A couple of years ago on the Allure of the Seas we witnessed the rescue of raft in distress with about 6 haitians east of Grand Cayman, it all happened early morning so it was dark. All of the occupants were boarded into the cruise ship and transported to Cozumel.
