norway olin Posted February 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2017 This is new one to me. We are booked on the March 19 Getaway cruise. For quite some time we have had reservations for the Illusionarium Magic show. Today I noticed an issue on "Explore and Plan" page of the reservation. They now list "Cirque Dreams and Steam" as an entertainment/meal that will be on the Getaway starting May 16. I am sure it is just a glitch, it should not even be showing up on our cruise. Both shows are listed at the same times and location throughout the week and both can be booked. Goofy
Mistizoom Posted February 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Perhaps you have discovered a replacement to the current Illusionarium show. Sounds like the wait staff will wear the same costumes though.
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2017 There have been many rumors about the demise of the Illusionarium. Now we know that it is being replaced by a Cirque show.
Rare gogo65 Posted February 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2017 We are on getaway May 25th (90 days out today) and we don't have the option of the cirque show, I have the option of wine lovers the musical in the illusionarium. (I don't know if that's the standard show?)
cant_w8_2_cruise Posted March 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2017 I am on the following week (March 26th) and I still have the option to book Illusionarium and don't see cirque dreams. It's too bad, I'd prefer the cirque style show! :)
Rare KeithJenner Posted March 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2017 I am on the following week (March 26th) and I still have the option to book Illusionarium and don't see cirque dreams. It's too bad, I'd prefer the cirque style show! :) It changes to Cirque on May 16th, so you will still have the Illusionarium in March.
Seminole1975 Posted March 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2017 My son will be performing on the Getaway beginning in April (actually rehearsing in Tampa in April then boarding the ship in Copenhagen sometime in May). He told me that the Illusionarium is being replaced by Cirque as mentioned above. The thinking is that the passengers from Europe would like Cirque better. ashley@cruisecritic Posted March 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2017 Hi guys. Norwegian made an official announcement last week. Here's Cruise Critic's coverage: http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=7564.
norway olin Posted March 2, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted March 2, 2017 The point of my original post is that both shows are listed as available for booking at the same exact time on my March 19 Getaway sailing. It is obviously in error, but I wonder how many that don't visit here will be upset when they get on board and see that cirque has not yet premiered.
