Anthem of the Seas - Live Review 3/5/17-3/12/17

Recommended Posts

Thank you so much for posting menu and food pics! I'm really surprised there aren't more photos of food taken in the MDR's.

So how did you know where you were eating each night then? I have heard that if you had MTD and reservations you were assigned to American Icon every night. Is that not the case?

I had MTD for 3 of my last cruises on Anthem. American Icon is the dining room for those with reservations. Silk for those without. If it happens to get too crowded, they may send you to another dining room. I personally wish I had the option of dining in the other dining rooms. I really miss Dynamic Dining.

MTD... If it happens to get too crowded, they may send you to another dining room.

We had Classic at Chic, which we skipped the first 2 nights as we had BOGO. The server said they had MTD people at our table on those nights.

We had reservations every night. We checked in at the counter on deck 4. We were then escorted to our table. There did not seem to be a rhyme or reason to where they put us. Sometimes we were put in American History Icon or Silk on 4. Sometimes they took us downstairs and put us in Grande or Chic. I had also heard we would be put only in one of the restaurants on 4 so I thought it was odd.

That was not our experience. We had reservations for the same time every night. They just stuck us wherever they wanted. The restaurants on 4 definitely appeared to have 4-tops available when they put us down on deck 3

I wish they would have put us in different dining rooms. I miss dining in Chic and Grande. I'm not crazy about eating in American Icon every night, especially when I was on 12 night cruises.

MDR Lunch Menu - I think this was day 7

IMG_2456_zps7mjskkuz.jpg

Thanks for the great review and it looks like you had a grand time!

Does the MDR lunch menu change from day to day? Or is it generally the same?

Also, I noticed you ordered the Escargot a couple times. Was it that good? Can you describe it?

And the photos of the entrees look good. Portions seem consistent with what a nutritionist would recommend as a proper "portion". Did you feel you could have room to eat another entree? Or need a visit to the Wind Jammer for a post dinner snack? (Hey! You're on a cruise! indulge a bit!)

Thanks for the review and all of the pictures! Was the line for skating as long as the bumper cars?

You have to get there around 30 minutes in advance to sign up or you run the risk of not getting to go The first time they tried they got there right as it was starting and there no spots left for any of the sessions for the day. The second time they tried they got there early and got in the first session. The sessions are 30 minutes long. I think they did 3 sessions at a time.
