From what I remember they opened the casino shortly after sailing. I think it's because LA allows gambling in the state so they aren't as restricted as to when the casino can open.

This correct, Louisiana allows gaming on the river but if you win, you pay taxes.

HeidiHo- That is the EXACT REASON why we chose the Dream, we made friends with the alchemists on the Magic and kept in touch weekly since, Drazen and Boyana...we want to see them again, taking them out to lunch in two ports and when they are here in Florida in June getting together with them. Yes they are very entertaining and that is their true personalities, they not fake for their job, they love making friends and keeping in touch, just truly friendly fun people. Glad you had a great time!

We were just on the Dream last week. Our cabin steward came around with a paper and ask if we wanted morning, evening or (which he said under his breath) both. We choose both and got it. We were on deck 1. We also hung the cruising sign on our door when we left the cabin. I don't know if that helps them much or not on cleaning times.

HeidiHo THANK YOU, were they more than a 2/3 piece band, did they have a drummer?

Nwo4life so they did cut back the comedy shows at least most of the cruise there is one thank you.

No cutbacks, this is all we have ever encountered. We have been cruising on Carnival twice a year since they started the comedy clubs.

I would make sure I receive twice daily....if I don't, I will go and mention it to the front desk and have them leave a message to the Chief Steward or contact him myself. I do not need turn down service for the bedding, I expect the bathrooms to be tidy up and given clean towels both in am and pm...there is no way I am going to use used towels when I am on vacation. I keep a very tidy room and the cabin steward doesn't have very much to do anyways. I am very clean at home and I expect the same when I am on a cruise.

Maybe you should upgrade to a more expensive cruise line. You get what you pay for.

She pays for twice daily cabin servicing already so she can expect it. The number of cabins the steward is assigned is not your problem. Carnival's policy is twice a day cleanings if that is what you want. If you request twice a day and don't get it a simple trip to GS should solve the issue.

We don't need a lot for the evenings...just fresh up the bathroom and leave new towels. I don't need ice or towel animals.
