riekl Posted March 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2017 On both oasis and allure I could just plug my Roku into the hdmi port the rc system used and poof! Roku on tv. The tvs on harmony use Ethernet and there doesn't appear to be anyway to change the input to use hdmi. Unplugging Ethernet doesn't help. Ideas ? klass2 Posted March 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2017 When we sailed Harmony we were able to use a universal remote to change the tv out of hotel mode and use the HDMI ports. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
sg1phileshipper Posted March 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2017 If they are using an internet (Cat5 Cable) the TV might not have an HDMI connector . They also lock the HDMI ports if they have them. I was under the impression they lock hdmi on the remote. I believe I read a while ago that bringing a universal remote would give you access to hdmi Cindy
gatour Posted March 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Anyone have any idea on why cruise lines and hotels want to lock the inputs?
live2cruise2011 Posted March 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Anyone have any idea on why cruise lines and hotels want to lock the inputs? They lock them so that you will spend the money on the pay movies.

woodz Posted March 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 19, 2017 My DD just got off Harmony today and used Netflix in her cabin using a universal remote and following instructions she found on YouTube. She said it worked great.

cantgetaname Posted March 19, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Hope its ok to ask this in this thread, but I'm very interested in this thread. We are setting out on our first cruise on Oasis later this year and on holiday we like to have a night where we watch a particular film series (PoTC). Will we be able to plug in a roku or a appletv? Any suggestions? Again hope its ok to ask this here.

Also, in order to get internet access, you must supply a username and password to a web page that pops up when you connect to the internet. You must be able to do that on your streaming device.
