It's finally here! Heading down to Florida tonight!!! Any tips for port everglades?? First time driving to a port. Any parking tips? Or just any tips on getting to where we need to be once we get there?? Is there good signage at this port??

Have a GPS of some sort. Lots of traffic in the area. If you are using a parking service while you are sailing, get there by 11:30. That assures you will get to the ship by noon or 12:30. You can't get into the port driving by yourself. You need either a taxi, limo or shuttle. We parked at a lot that was about 5 minutes from the port. The shuttle was prompt getting us there..less so when we got back, but the car was in good condition when we got back

You can of course, drive into the port and use one of their parking garages if that's what you would like to do.

Other than that tidbit of information, I can't help you as we always fly down.

Enjoy your cruise.

We drive down and park at the terminal parking right across from the terminal. Watch and follow the signage. Your GPS may not fully reflect changes around the port. If you have time look at google maps to get a feel for where to go. There are cheaper places to park but it may be too late to research those.

Are you spending the night near the port? Your hotel may provide parking and a shuttle.

Be sure to have ready your passport and boarding passes for the ship when you go through security to enter the port.

You certainly can drive to one of the parking lots.

Depending on how much luggage you have, you may want to drop it off first and then park in one of the garages.

There are lots of signs indicating where the various ships are docked.

Have a great cruise.

Have cruise documents and passports handy, but it is likely you will not need to show them. The Officer at the entrance to the Port will ask you where you are going. Knowing your ship's name will be helpful.

Drive to the terminal, drop off your luggage that you wish to be placed aboard. Drive into the Mid-Port Parking Garage; whether the ship is docked at Piers 19-21-26, it will be a short walk to where you get to the Terminal for your ship. (Hint: be aware as to which Terminal the ship is at. There are 3 elevators at the East end of the Mid-Port Parking Garage that provide easier access to Terminals 21 and 26. There is only one elevator at the West end of the Mid-Port Parking Garage that is best for ships at Terminal 19 (that is in my experience "finicky" as to whether it wants to operate or not; maybe Port Everglades has solved the problem since my last experiences). Parking and using that elevator can lead to a long walk if the ship is at #21 or #26.

Signage is good and the Sheriff's Deputies that provide directions are friendly and will help you. Stress not! And, enjoy your cruise!
