Civitavecchia disembarkation - FCO flight to Canada

Have a flight from FCO to Canada (terminal 3) on a Friday at 13:10 in summer.

Would appreciate hearing ideas/recommendations on how to plan the morning based on your past experiences.

Ship scheduled to dock at Civitavecchia at 5:00am.

-Self disembark early and private transfer?

-Stay on ship as long as possible and take ship transfer to FCO?

-arrange some stop/visit somewhere enroute from port to FCO (if so, where ??)

When should I plan to arrive at FCO?

Any feedback is appreciated.

You don't need to be at the airport until 11 AM, and you'll be kicked off the ship well before that. A ship's transfer will work for you, although you'll probably get to the airport well before 11 and wind up killing time there. That's easy to do, however, it's like a big shopping mall.
