sturderick Posted May 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2017 I would like to know if there is a specific side of Lido you are allowed to smoke as there is on other ships? I would like to here from someone that has actually experienced it on the Magic. I always assumed it was the same on every ship but that is wrong. My husband usually gets to Lido before me and picks a chair and when I get out there, I make him move if he's by the smoking haha. I'm trying to save him the trouble this cruise . Yes, I have searched the forums and it isn't giving me my answer (not that I should have to explain that to anyone!)

Hat Trick Casino Bar: Smoking is permitted in designated area. Vibe Nightclub: Smoking is permitted but not on the dance floor. Outdoors: Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Deck 5 (port side, aft, outside the Nightclub) and Deck 11 (starboard side, midship and aft). Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the above designated outdoor smoking areas on Deck 5 and Deck 11 https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3490/~/locations-where-you-can-smoke#magic
E@syPe@zy Posted May 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2017 Panorama (Deck 11) Port Side and Promenade(Deck 5) in various locations. Carnival has this information on their web site for each and every ship in pdf format. (Carnival/carnival-ship-approved-smoking-areas) Easy to print your particular ship. They can't even smoke them outside? That's a bummer. We were planning on spending some time there and I don't mind a cigar or two being smoked at times but don't want to hang out there if everyone smoking cigars is in there. I wish they still had the cigar lounges they used to have so everyone could go there and smoke and the ones that don't want to be around it could stay away. I know this is a very sensitive subject :o.

I know this is a very sensitive subject :o. I enjoy the smell of premium cigars as well as smoking them. Although I haven't indulged myself in years because my wife hates the bad breath but I do enjoy the smell when others are smoking. I do not enjoy the cut rate cigars. Some of those stink to high hell...but I can understand and appreciate that not everyone enjoys being around them.

I don't mind premium cigars either (to an extent haha). Do people even smoke pipes any more?
estillcrew Posted May 1, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 1, 2017 You can smoke on the deck above the Lido in several places. I saw people smoking at the back of the boat and midship on the starboard side (odd numbered cabins).

crusinpsychRN Posted May 3, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Deck 11 area is very large. Take your own ash tray, hard to find and not bused well in April. Time before that trip there was a guy who was always cleaning.

Sitzmark Posted May 5, 2017 #20 Share Posted May 5, 2017 No smoking on lido, thank GOD!!! On the Dream it was my experience that people will smoke wherever they please. The ashtrays are not fixed to tables so they take them where they want them to be and the crew did not enforce the rules. There are also not signs indicating where smoking area's are or are not. I informed a woman smoking by the BBQ that she was in a non smoking area and she replied "Well, they were smoking here yesterday." and then strolled inside still smoking her cigarette. I did not have that experience at all when I was on the Dream or any other cruise ship for that matter. I only saw people smoking in the designated areas. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it just has not been my experience.
