formal dinner

A lot has changed on all the cruise lines since you last cruised in 2010.

Most of the cruise lines have relaxed their rules about formal dress. Many now call them Gala Nights and even those you will find very, very few people dress up. Ladies wear slacks, skirts, fancy tops or nice dressed. Men wear slacks with collared shirts. No ties and no jackets.

How long does the formal dinner usually last on the Carnival Liberty?

Cruise Elegant evening (there are no "formal" nights) on Carnival cruises does not take any longer than any other evening in the dining room. Allot about 1.5 hours.

Great! Thanks! We have a 6pm dining time and I just wanted to be sure we were finished in time for the concert. I saw where someone had complained of dinner lasting 2-3 hours lately.

Maybe that happened for a different reason, not it being a formal dinner.

Just think about it this way, they have to get you out of there in time to set up for the next seating, which is 8:15.
