We went to port in Isle Roatan and she might have drank a little.... ok ALOT to much... She had to be brought back on the ship in a wheel chair, directly into the medical bay, and had 3 bags of iv put into her. She was fine in the long run, but they cut her off for drinking the rest of the cruise. They told us, as the adults that brought her in, and she actually confirmed two days later when she went to get a mimosa in the morning that she was cut off. Bobkat26 Posted May 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I have not had it happen to me, but sitting beside someone last time at the casino bar who did. He had hit his maximum limit and he was arguing that he should be able to buy more. It was not going well. If you read the fine print, they can stop serving you whenever they feel that you have had too much. He didn't appear drunk to me, but he had hit his limit of 15 alcoholic drinks. Kathy I don't think the OP was talking about the daily 15 limit. They said the person was cut off for the remainder of the cruise for no reason. bury me at sea Posted May 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 2, 2017 If Carnival refused to serve someone alcohol I'll bet there was a pretty good reason.
ryano Posted May 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 2, 2017 If Carnival refused to serve someone alcohol I'll bet there was a pretty good reason. Exactly. Not buying the whole "no reason at all" at all.
bnorris10 Posted May 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I went on a cruise and a member of our group was cut off for being an obnoxious drunk - after the girl doing some arguing and not having any luck getting her drink back on - so the guy who booked and paid for the entire group went to talk to someone and as soon as they looked at his account they immediately gave her privileges back - he is like a platinum many times over not to mention all the people he pays for when he goes cruising - So I guess it pays to be a top dog in the cruising world LOL

mrsfuzzmo Posted May 2, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 2, 2017 For no reason???? Bahaha, that makes me laugh. Of course there was a reason. We may not know what it is, but I will guarantee that there was a reason.
EnKSA Posted May 2, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 2, 2017 We hit our 15th drink on the Monday of or last cruise. It was about midnight though, and we were pretty ready to call it a night. We had ordered a round at the Piano Bar and when the waitress dropped off the drink she let us know that it was 15...everyone cheered and we all had a good laugh. I didn't try to order anything else, but I assume we were cut off at that point.

Kyndal93 Posted May 3, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Me and my dad were at the casino one night, and I hit 15 beers and they cut me off. But not my dad, but he was tipping very generously. So if you want more than 15 then you better tip well! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
tree.critter Posted May 3, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I wonder if they got caught "sharing" and thats why they got cut off. This is my first thought too. Definitely another side to this, they just don't cut people out there for for no reason.

Kathy I will be taking my first cruise in July. It's a girls trip :) we are going to purchase the cheers package and maybe I am confused but I was under the impression that the 15 limit included everything ... specialty coffee, bottle water, etc. So it would be possible to get to your 15 limit without being drunk. hmmmm

Gamecock_Cruiser Posted May 3, 2017 #22 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Before Cheers was brought out, my friends sister in law was cut off on her cruise due to being brought back to the ship in a wheelchair. She went to go purchase a drink the next day, and the bartender told her that she had been "black carded".
