Fun Shop refund

Anyone have experience with merchandise not delivered by the Funshops? We ordered an item to be delivered to our room that never arrived. We asked several times at guest services and were told it's coming, it's delayed etc. Finally on the evening of the second night I told them keep it, give us a refund to which they agreed. There was no refund. I've called twice since we returned and been assured both times it's coming but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen? Is this the company MO to just screw around and hope you get tired and walk away? I finally called my credit card company to reverse the charge but it seems like a poor way to deal with things.

I have never had a delivery problem but have had several problems getting the refund on items purchased with gift cards. I have waited about 2 months now for 1 refund and have spent several hours on the phone. They were suppose to contact me with a tracking number when issued, but it has yet to occur. Not to hijack the thread- but my advice to others is don't buy from the fun shop with gift cards if you may cancel the order. Carnival is terrible to deal with on refunds on gift card purchases. The related customer service and systems are horrendous.

My issue is somewhat related, but not quite. I bought my grandson a Pride lego ship model that was missing several pieces. He's a perfectionist at 8 and couldn't handle the not quite complete finished product. That was in October 2016 when our Caribbean cruise was diverted to Canada - thank you Hurricane Matthew. We are back on the Pride in a few weeks and I have the repackaged model to exchange. The only receipt I could find was a line item on our Sail and Sign statement for the Fun Shops, with a total I'm sure included a few other items. Hopefully, this will work out OK.

I had pre-ordered water and flowers for our cabin, and when I checked the order just before sailing, it had a deliver to the cabin date of the 2nd cruise day. I wanted it for the first day, to be there when we enter the cabin immediately after boarding (since I am) Diamond). I cancelled the order on line as I couldn't find a way to edit the date and re-ordered the same items for first day delivery.. My credit card showed two billings, I had to call and explain and get credit applied for the cancelled order.

The credit card company and the bank behind it may be holding up the credit. I can charge something in a store and by the time I get home, the charge appears on my statement. For some strange greedy reason, it takes them weeks sometimes to apply a credit.

i have a similar issue. I had ordered chocolate covered strawberries to the room as we were sailing for my wife birthday. They were not there when we arrived. I just thought no biggie they will come later or tomorrow. They never came. It was only a 4 day cruise and now its day 3, i sneak off to the "casino" to check on whats going on, they tell me they ran out of strawberries and they didn't want to tell me just in case they picked more up from the port. So that was their excuse for not delivering and not notifying me of what was going on. I cancelled the order and they gave me the refund in the form of a sign and sail credit since the funshop order was on my credit card an was placed prior to sailing. Thats my only negative experience with the fun shops, as i have ordered since then and have no issues.

Maybe, When I charge something I get an alert within seconds on my phone that the charge has gone through. normally returns aren't as fast but in my experience it is normally about 2 days. In this case though I have now waited two and a half weeks. My card company was helpful though and is doing a chargeback.

For a cruise in February 2016, I preordered a 12pk of water(back when it was $2.99), a 6" sugar free vanilla birthday cake, and Bottomless Bubbles. I originally tried to order online, but it kept on trying to assign Bottomless Bubbles to my mom instead of me. It wouldn't let me change that. I called and ordered over the phone. The guy wasn't going to give me a receipt until I asked. The receipt looked weird.

I get on the ship and the water and cake aren't in my cabin. Bottomless Bubbles wasn't on my account. I talked to guest services a few times. I had to use the ship's wifi to log in to my bank account to prove I had paid for this order(I was super paranoid for the entire cruise over this). I also showed the lady the weird receipt. She called somebody in shoreside accounting. My order had been cancelled, but nobody bothered to tell me. They also didn't give me a refund after doing so. I insisted on getting a refund, and I eventually got one. I also got six free drink coupons(up to $5.25), but I lost one.

I posted this situation on John Heald's Facebook page. I got two deliveries of chocolate covered strawberries and assorted treats, a bottle of wine(we didn't drink either), and a ship on a stick. We got a free sugar free cake in the dining room on the 3rd or 4th night. We never got any water bottles.

I was happy with the way Carnival made this right.

A pity that it had to come to that.

How do you check to see when your order is to be delivered? I requested day of departure and that is on my printout but I don't see anything when I pull up my cruise in the manager to verify my purchase or delivery options. Never thought about it before but we are leaving in the morning.

Our first Carnival family cruise I pre-ordered gifts for my daughters from the FunShops. One item did not arrive, but a card was sent to the room indicating that it was not coming. They gave a credit to our Sail and Sign. On another cruise, I again pre-ordered for them. One item was not available as ordered. I received a call from the FunShop onboard asking us to pay them a visit to pick out another item.

When we ordered, it asked when it should be delivered. We selected 1st day with the earliest time slot. I don't know how you would check after you have ordered it.

My experience was similar. I ordered a cake for a friend of mine that was cruising right after she lost her husband. They used to cruise as a couple for years. Anyway her cruise was February 25th for a week and her Birthday was on the 28th which is when I requested the cake delivered. It wasn't until about a week later after she returned that I learned she never received it.

I initially emailed Guest Services with the complaint. I received an automated response that they would have someone contact me within seven days. They did not so I called Guest Services and sure enough it was not delivered. Apparently when I placed the order on line I was to have provided a Booking Number, but it never required me to do so when ordering on line. It only asked me for her name, what ship, and the sail date and they apparently matched it with her sailing. Very misleading, but they sure completed the sale and charged my credit card without any issues.

I did not hear from them for 10 days. I called again and was encouraged that they at least had on file where I had emailed and my previous call, but they said it usually takes 10-15 days for it to show up and that I should not include weekend days as part of that time frame. Miraculously the credit showed up the next day. I am sure someone just dropped the ball on the credit just like they dropped the ball on delivering the cake. My point to this is stay on top of them and keep calling. The amount of the cake was insignificant, but the idea that this probably happens to a lot of people like me that wouldn't have known, if I did not ask my friend, that they did not get what I ordered, really bothers me. It took me 2 months to get a credit on my credit card. It is the principle of the matter.

You are more patient than I am. I felt I'd already waited long enough and I don't want to continue dogging them to get my $38.50 back. It is definitely the principle here as I already feel like I've wasted more than 38 dollars of my time screwing around with it.

So, what is the better option? i wanted to order the choc cake as a surprise for the DD's graduation. Should i just go to cherry on top and order it once on the ship?

That wouldn't be a bad idea. My problem was that I was not on the cruise so I couldn't follow up when the day came that the cake was to be delivered. At least you would have some control. Room service may even deliver a whole cake. Not sure. Good luck. Full disclosure, I always use fun shops to order my booze, toys for my grandsons when they travel with us and water, and have never had an issue.

your purchases are now listed under the "my billing" tab when you go into cruise manager. There is a date on each item and I'm curious if that's the delivery date or if it's just the cruise sail date? I'm pretty sure I added everything for day 1 and they all say July 8.
