What is a Casino Rate?

They would like you to gamble in the casino, but it does not have the same restrictions as ES and normally you can get some cash from the casino as well (free)

We have 2 Casino offers:

(1) Premier Casino Offer-lower rate on cruise plus drinks on us card while in the casino (free drinks) and cash back from the casino. Dh and I are both getting $400 each on our upcoming Breeze cruise

(2) Regular Casino Offer-lower rate on cruise and a little cash back. DH and I would get $75 each with this offer. The cruise itself is slightly cheaper with this offer than with Premier.

Thank you for the reply. How do you know how much casino cash they give you? Is it after you book?

You can ask the associate when booking. They should be able to tell you.

Yes you can go get the money at the cage and don't have to gamble. You can call to inquire about your reward(depends on your code) or get a offer in the regular mail with the amount on it. I call to book direct to make sure I am getting the correct offer and they input the code into my booking so I can get the cash once onboard.

As in, you can go spend the free money but arent obligated to stay and play?

You don't always get cash. Sometimes I get cash and sometimes I get special chips to play with. Not sure why.

I'm more intrigued that it's lower than es

Just saw this when mock booking a cruise today, it's much lower than Early Saver so it peak my interest. What's the downside here folks.

We are new to Carnival. At what point in booking/where did you find the Casino Rate? How far in advance do you have to book?

To get the casino offer you must be rated by the casino. PTC will get you a slightly reduced rate with a small amount of cash aboard, usually $75 on a 3 to 5 day cruise. PC followed by a number (lower numbers mean you bet less on previous cruises allows a nice discount for week long cruises called Premier Cruises. These have more features than a regular cruise like easy boarding and drawings only for PC guests. PC3 will bring $300 and PC9 will bring $400.

You need to book before the well runs dry because the offers are capacity controlled. They do not offer very far in advance because the casino "inventory" most often appears to be cabins that are not selling well. At the moment the PC rate cruises have no Long Beach sailings. You won't find any cabins on Vista or Horizon either. The sailings that are more in demand will have less casino cabins.

While it is nice to receive free drinks while playing, premium dining coupons, bottles of wine, fruit baskets, cookies, strawberries, small gifts like night lights or playing card gift sets, and free slot tournaments, rest assured you have prepaid for all that in advance. Human nature being what it is, you will lose enough to pay for future discounts while aboard. If it is money you can afford to lose, by all means enjoy yourself.

Always remember there is no free lunch in casinos.

We changed from ES to Casino when we found it was cheaper. Stranger thing was we had to move one cabin. Crazy. From 1005 to 1006. Carnival did not know why. But we received $122 OBC and kept our $100 OBC from booking. The $122 was the price difference between the 2 rates.

No money from the casino though. I was hoping it would come with casino money.

I booked a cruise under the casino rate (simply the cheaper rates) back in December. Since then, the casino rate has still been available for me to book under. The most recent time I saw it available was April. I was planning on booking another cruise for the fall, but when I recently looked at the beginning of May, it is no longer available to me and still isn't as of today. Is it possible that I am no longer eligible for it? I have not cruised recently, so its not like they saw my level of play was down and decided to pull the offer. Should I call my PVP and see if I can get it back so that I can use it to book my fall cruise?

keep checking your email. Mine came via an email a few weeks after I booked. But also the cage at casino should have you on a list. Once time I did not get an email and name was not on the list and they took down my information and next day gave me my $75 in free cash, so just make sure you have some documentation you booked casino rate

Yes, you need to look at expiration dates on offer. My last one expired 4/27/17 and I can see it no longer shows up in my offers online. There are deadlines on "need to book by" and also need to sail by dates. But I have found they frequent a few times a year.

You receive a casino rate after you have played in the casino a lot. We are going on a 5-day cruise this month and received a casino rate of $100 per person for an inside, but we took an ocean view for $200 per person as we don't do inside cabins. Also received $100 onboard credit. Can't pass up something like that! This is our 28th Carnival cruise. We received a casino rate on our 10-day Holland America Panama Canal cruise last November and booked the top Neptune Suite for thousands of dollars less per person than the normal rate and also received onboard credit.

I booked the Casino Rate for the first time last month for my Breeze cruise in September. I originally booked ES but when I saw that the Casino Rate was $100 cheaper I was able to get that rate. Please note that when you do book the casino rate you have to put down $500 deposit and I did lose $50 OBC that I had with the ES rate. Unfortunately my casino rate didn't come with any cash but I was happy with the price that I got. I also got some offers for a Premier cruise that did come with cash and other extras but they weren't out of Galveston and the people I am cruising with didn't want to do those cruises. I will definitely keep a lookout out next time for the Premier cruise as that sounded like a good deal.

They were able to combine our casino rate with early saver, but I had to ask. I've called several times for OBC and confirmed that I still have ES. I don't gamble so we got the casino rate by using my DH's VIFP number. He got only $40 in casino money, but all is well since we got the cheaper casino rate with ES benefits. I still think it's weird, but hey, I'm not complaining. The casino rate we booked was $100 cheaper than the regular rate. Anyone else able to do this? I'm not sure if I got an exception for asking or what. My final payment is June 26 (already PIF to cash in on the Amex deal) so we'll see if it's really true. All I know is I've called at least 4x for price drops as the casino rates have fluctuated (got $120 so far in OBC) and the reps all said I can continue to get OBC up to 2 days before sailing.

I haven't sailed Carnival in a few years. I had a PVP and I originally booked as ES and my PVP later found a casino offer that gave me "extra" obc. I still love my PVP so not her fault. This cruise was my second dealing with CAS. I was not impressed at all with CAS. I will say upfront that I am a moderate but consistent gambler on slots.....I do not consider myself entitled. I found on my last 2 cruises that not only was on my last cruise CAS borderline rude when I contacted them but when I got on ship I found the OBC not there as promised and I actually had to "fight" for it with casino manager when I got on board. I can laugh almost now but when I had emailed Michael about possible past guest perks for casino (and I try to not sound entitled) I almost felt his eyes rolling at my email :)
