Yes, with approval of ship's management.

It depends on which balconies. Sometimes the partion between is a structural member.

We have opened the partition for the balconies on Allure, Freedom, Explorer, and Radiance. Just ask the room steward.

Aft balcony dividers cannot be opened.

That's right...can't open the afts...but they are large enough that it's unneeded!

We've done this, and we absolutely loved it! We had three cabins in a row, and we were able to leave the sliders unlocked /go from room to room without going out into the public hallway.

We have two "side" adjoiniong cabins on Navigator.

 

Judging by the pictures and videos I found - the balcony dividers look openable (they even have little handle on them).

 

Is that the case?

Absolutely true, we were docked alongside Allure once and I was taking photos of our "future" OS balcony. It wasn't until I got home and was looking at our cabin and the kids cabins that I noticed about every seven cabins there is a solid bulkhead that couldn't be opened.
