How to get rid of my pvp

My PVP took a turn to not helping me in so many ways, how do I get him off of my account?

I was booked for May 14th on the Carnival Dream, due to medical conditions and my specialists both told me I could not fly longer than an hour to NOLA I had to cancel this cruise. I called my PVP up and mentioned this and asked since we live in Florida can we transfer our booking to another ship out of Florida which is only a 50 minute flight time from Jacksonville Florida which I am able to do. I told him I am willing to pay penalty fees to change I just want to go on a cruise but was told I would pay penalty fees and not get the remaining money back that Carnival won't reimburse due to the fact the cruse was happening in 5 weeks.

Fortunately for insurance I got all the money back and so did my father in law who was traveling with us, as a result, I booked up RC Harmony of the Seas and it was the best. thing to ever happen because it was the perfect cruise for so many reasons....so good, that we feel that Carnival should of worked with us since I was platinum from the beginning and decided to book the Oasis of the Seas for October this year.

Carnival has disappointed us in so many ways but RC came through in so many ways, but I would still like to cruise Carnival in the future, I just want to get rid of my PVP who didn't help us (and read here on cruise critic other people had to cancel due to medical reasons and their PVP transferred their cruise to another ship) can anybody tell us how to get him off our account?

PVPs cannot change the policy. Waiving a $50 fee (which some have reported having them do for name changes and such) is a lot different than cancelling within the penalty phase. Carnival doesn't "transfer" bookings like other lines. It's a flat cancel and rebook.

You don't need to get him off your account, just simply book by calling the 800 number or do it yourself online. You think dealing with your PVP was bad? The 800 number can be even worse and you won't get any different results that way. If you don't like their policies, don't book on Carnival. Your beef is with them, not the PVP. May the Force be with you.

Sorry but there are no special rules for cancellation because people are platinum.

The same rules should be applied to newbie cruisers all the way up to the highest level of loyalty cruiser.

That's only fair.:)

How to get rid of you PVP? Heck, mine won't call or email me back. Not even sure why. We booked two cruises with her for DW and myself and our wedding cruise where all 11 people booked through her. Plus booked our far out cruise on the Vista with her. I figured she would want to stay with us forever considering we hadn't ever changed a date or room after initial booking. We are easy peasy... puzzles me. I know she is still there as a few others that cruised on our wedding still get e-mails with her name on them.

We just booked our August cruise online.

They probably were not in the penalty phase so were able to be re-booked.

Fortunately, you were smart enough to take out insurance on that cruise.

I'm confused.

You wanted to cancel a cruise leaving out of New Orleans and book a cruise leaving out of Florida and you were willing to pay the penalties and Carnival wouldn't let you?!?!?

What am I missing?

13 replies and nobody answered the OP's question. Forget the backstory.

Can anyone describe how to replace your PVP?

Would like to hear what the process is myself.

(I do have one person that replied on my Ignore List. I assume they didn't answer the question either) :-)

That would make me change pvp's. Ask a cruising friend for recommendation.

To change your PVP call the 800 number and ask to speak to a different one, they will put you through and that person will get it into their name if you like them. I love mine but can not gives his name on here. Hope that helps.

When our original PVP left Carnival we were assigned one that did not work the hours when we like to book our cruises. I just called the 800 number and asked for one that worked later hours. Our new PVP was assigned and has worked great for us ever since,

I would like to know how RC came thru in so many ways.

Since it is a completely "new cruise" on RC how is that comparing apples to apples with a "cancel" and re-book cruise while in the penalty phase. Did RC give the OP the money back that they had spent at Carnival before charging them for the cruise. No, probably not, they just gladly accepted the money the insurance company coughed up. Just a theory, since I'm not the OP.

1) You can call the 800 PVP line (not the general Carnival 800 reservation line) and request a different PVP. There's a lot of confusion about PVP's vs reservation agents here on Cruise Critic. Two different departments.

2) Even if you had a different PVP, I doubt that he/she would've been able to assist you more than the old one did. Based on what you wrote, the PVP provided you with the correct information and there's really not much more that he could've done for you.

3) Glad you enjoyed the Harmony of the Seas! However, understand that Royal has very similar cancellation policies as Carnival. Had you been originally booked on Royal and decided to cancel and rebook your cruise under similar circumstances you would've most likely found yourself in the same exact predicament. Royal is now even starting to offer fares with a non-refundable deposit like Carnival does, so do familiarize yourself with all the rules before you book your next cruise to avoid further disappointment.

The past Carnival cruises that I have taken, I had to call the day before final payment was due to remind him of the payment needed to be processed, he was not on top of things as he was in the past. I don't expect my PVP to get into trouble, but around the time I had to cancel this Carnival cruise, I had another post going and others responded that their PVP allowed them to change ships and two people said they even got the penalty waived...but I guess its who you get maybe?

People fib. Like noted above, there is no "changing ships" or "moving" your cruise. It is always cancel and rebook.

I don't even know where to start with this. You honestly think that Carnival should have bent their rules for you because you are Platinum? Do you understand how pompous that makes you sound?

And how does one get to be Platinum without knowing the rules? You shouldn't have even thought about calling, because you should have known what the outcome would be. So why are you blaming this on the PVP?

And lastly, if you had insurance, and your reason for cancelling was covered, why is this even an issue? And why was it ever an issue? You got your money back.

Actually, that's a good question. I got my original PVP, which I still use to this day, back in 2000 on my very first Carnival cruise. I cruised several times on Carnival, but wanted to try other lines. From 2008 to 2013, I tried other lines and Carnival assigned me another PVP since I was MIA. Then, in 2015, my original PVP was on vacation when I booked, so they assigned another PVP.

So, how do I get rid of the 2 that were assigned that is not my original PVP? the other two still send me e-mails and make calls...
