Specific hotel questions - Fort Lauderdale

Hello fellow cruisers,

 

We are planning on spending 3 days pre-cruise in Fort Lauderdale and trying to pick out our best option.

 

Could you suggest a hotel that has the following amenities:

 

- Separate Living area/bedroom (suites)

- Walk in shower (no tub)

- MODERN (so no Homewood Suites)

- MODERN (so no Homewood Suites)

Embassy Suites is all have a bedroom separate .

 

I'm finding walk in showers/ suites hotels in Miami (EB Hotel, Intercontinental, etc). Not in Fort Lauderdale, though.

Walk in showers are usually only in access able room or usually called handicapped.

Another option to check out would be the suites at the new Margaritaville Resort in nearby Hollywood.

Curious as to why you don't consider Homewood Suites to be modern. They're as modern as other hotels in that price range, and definitely have the suite arrangement you're looking for. The walk-in shower is problematic unless you do a handicapped room.

Maybe the Atlantic Hotel on the beach would suit your needs, they're more like condos I think. Or the Hilton on the beach. It looked new and modern with separate rooms. Not sure about the walk-in shower. I recommend checking Trip Advisor to get a better description of the properties in Ft Lauderdale.

UPDATE

 

We found 2 hotels to choose from:

 

- Hyde resort & Residences (upscale)

- Home2 Suites (budget).

I have stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in a 1 bedroom suite. I can tell you that there was a separate walk in shower in the bathroom.

If you have a car, the Comfort Suites in Dania Beach has what you're looking for.
