if the same room is available for both legs when you book then no you would not have to change rooms so that is key item to look for when booking a B2B. When we did ours they had us and the others on B2B's gather at pursers desk in lobby then they escorted us as a group off the ship to customs agent who looked at our passports then we turned around were escorted back on board and handed our new sail and sign cards and we were free to go do whatever we wanted until everyone else boarded the ship.

when we booked our back to back I made sure that the same cabin was available for both legs so that we didn't have to change cabins so be sure to check that out or have your travel agent make sure of it. when we finished our first leg they had us and the other back to backers gather by the pursers desk after everyone had disembarked. They then escorted us off the ship to customs had our papers checked then escorted us back on board handed us our new room keys and we were free to go do whatever.

If you have to change rooms the stewards will assist you. Our steward made it a point to let us know they had contacted the steward that would be taking care of our stateroom on the next leg and they would get it moved for us. I packed up shelf and drawer things but at their suggestion left everything hanging on the hanger.

We met in one of the dining rooms and had coffee and pasties while we waited. And like kdr69 posted we were escorted off and right back on.

What if we can't get the same room?

If you do not get the same cabin, here is a tip to help lessen the packing. Bring some hangers from home. Cabin steward will be able to give you some but if you hang most of your clothes like we do, you need more than they can provide. If most of your clothes are on hangers, ask your cabin steward to bring you a luggage trolley. You can then just hang all your clothes on the trolley and move to your new cabin without having to pack them all up. Your room steward will help you move that also.

Make sure your room steward is aware that you are doing b2b so arrangements can be made as to who will move you. It depends how many are doing b2b and how many your first or new steward have. We have had our first steward do it but our new steward has done it also.

We also visit our new steward the day before to remind him we are b2b so he can make it a priority to have our cabin cleaned first. As soon as he has it cleaned, he will notify your first steward so the move can be made as early and quickly as possible.

The cabin stewards should have all this info but sometimes, it slips through the crack. So just to be sure, I always proactively ensure that they are aware.

How does it work on a Back to back as far as changing rooms? Also do you have to get off the ship in between?

Yes you have to leave with a Carnival rep and go thru customs and then right back on.

in San Juan on a B2 journeys cruise, all B2B guests met in the showroom, we had over 100 B2B guests. There were 4 customs agent on the stage and we were called Diamond, Platinum, and so on. We exited the theater and were issued new S&S cards and we were ready to go. Only down side, we were back on the ship a little after 10 and the bars and food services were all closed. We hung out on the empty serenity deck and waited for the bar to open.

It is helpful to hang up stuff, but there is no need to move your stuff to a trolley. Just remember to empty the safe and pack up everything except your hanging clothes in your luggage. The steward will take your luggage and hanging stuff in the closet to your new room while you are down going through customs and getting your new room key. You can go to your new room as soon as you come back on the ship, although they usually try to have to pose for a special B2B group picture. It's free! The room should be ready and all your stuff should be inside waiting for you.

Thank you all! Right now they are showing our initial room as booked. They are showing a lot sold out. Hoping it is TAs blocking them and more will open up.

Good for you! Enjoy your cruises! See you on the TA.

It does help to be diligent. It has happened to us before too. Many times people change their cabins and the one you want becomes available. Especially if there are price drops, people tend to upgrade.
