Willdra, was the shuttle complimentary from the car rental?

Hi Pugster4, yes it was, we rented with Alamo. They give you a ticket when you return the car to show to the shuttle driver. ;)

Embarkation Day

Part 2

Now I really wanted to check out this massive new Vista Vessel so I grabbed W and we went exploring. On first sight The Vista really reminded me of The Breeze, but there's so much more! We went around and looked at as much as we could. I came to the conclusion that one sailing on this ship will not do it any justice. This lady was built to be more than just a one hit wonder. W wanted Guy's Pig and Anchor Bar B Que and he got it just in time before it started raining again. I walked around the Havana Bar while he ate. I wanted a blue margarita, and since it was hurricaning outside, we got it from the Main Lobby Bar.

I had my drink and we decided we would go back to the cabin and chill until The Muster Drill. When we got there our luggage had arrived. Sweet! I unpacked which seems to take longer and longer now, while W called his mom to tell her Happy Mother's Day. He unpacked after me, because I need my space to see where I want everything first.

Me waiting for W to finish unpacking

Embarkation Day

Part 3

After we removed all traces of luggage, which also now represents the fact that we will have to go home in a week, I wanted to go up on Lido for our official "we are on vacay" selfies. The rain was done and I was ready for fun. Sort of. We found some good spots to take pictures and that's what we did. Soon we were all told to go to our Muster Stations. Yay!! Ours was in the Dining Room. The staff was scanning everyone's Sail and Sign Card at the door. That way they knew who's been naughty and who's been nice! It took longer for people to get there than the entire drill. Seriously people, what are you doing that is more important than your safety? (Asking for a friend). It was over fast and we were grateful. At the conclusion of the drill, Matt said that there would be another private drill held for those who skipped or were too late. #Karma!

Embarkation Day

Part 4

Once the Mandatory Muster Drill is complete, it's time to go back up to Lido for the sail away party. Don’t even think about finding an elevator. Unless you want your hopes and dreams crushed into a fine powder.Take a deep breath, and prepare to climb Mt. Everest! Right about the time that you are fixin tah pass out, you've made it! Hooray!! When we got to the top, I was finally hungry, and that was prolly due to that climb, so I got a burger from Guy's. The cheese was extra spectacular today so that put me in a much better mood! Soon we could hear the party getting started so we walked up another deck to watch. There were tons of people out celebrating, dancing, and having a great time. We all wished Miami farewell in true Vista style.

Embarkation Day

Part 5

We had great seats to watch our departure from Miami. Except we didn't depart Miami. There was a medical emergency and we needed to wait for that passenger to get the care that they required. This turned out to be a good time to hit Serenity since we hadn't been up there yet. We walked extra slow by the slides because that whole area was wet. It is fall down in your flip flops and not look cool doing it, wet, so be careful!

We reached Serenity in one piece, and it was breathtaking. It was very beautifully put together. I couldn't wait to claim a clamshell on a sea day and settle in with a good book. #Heaven

Embarkation Day

Part 6

We walked around a little more then went back to the cabin to do absolutely nothing before dinner. When we set sail, we went out on the balcony to watch . It's always nice sailing out of Miami. We stayed on the balcony for a while and read. It was 8 o'clock before we knew it.Time flies when you are on a cruise!

Embarkation Day

Part 7

At some point before dinner, we learned that the Vista has a different setup for their Your Time Dining. When you are ready for dinner instead of going straight to the dining room, you go to Deck 5 to check in first. There was no line when we got there so we got a ticket and we were assigned a table in the Horizon Dining Room. So far so good, but tomorrow would be the true test. Elegant Evening will separate the men from the boys in the Your Time Dining Game!

Once we made it to our table, I had the Strawberry Bisque, Calamari, and Bacon Mac and Cheese as an entrée. I wasn't really hungry and that was a lot of food! I had Butter Pecan Ice Cream for dessert. The Dining Room staff brought out a special Mother's Day chocolate heart also.

Embarkation Day

Part 8

We wanted to catch the 10 o'clock comedy show which would start lining up early. On the way out of the Dining Room they gave all the Mothers a carnation too, which I thought was nice. After a brief stop for a wardrobe change in the cabin, we were in line to see Lester Bibbs. The line was all the way back to the Skybox Sports Box and we still got good seats. The Limelight Lounge holds a lot more people than it seems. Go early so that you can see and not have to stand. Lester was good, and there were some really funny parts. Then randomly, he paused in the middle of the show for the Shopping Expert to come up and give her sales pitch. Ok wasn't expecting that, and it was awkward! It got really quiet as she was trying to convince people that they needed to waste, I mean use, valuable cruise time by listening to her talk about shopping. Shopping y'all. Sorry but I need zero help spending my money. Thanks tho.

After the show we went and found a kiosk to use. I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and load my Gift Cards to our account since it was late, and we would be the only ones out. We found a vacant one next to Guest Services. #Score! I started the usual tap tapping on it but it was not working very well. I had to push the letter or number a few times for it to register. After some light profanity (never said I was perfect), the universe was merciful and I got to the part where I could swipe or type in the gift card numbers. The swiper wasn't working. Swiper No Swiping! No problem I'll type them in. I get the cards out and start trying to type in the numbers. Welp there were 2 problems with that. 1. I'd left my reading glasses in the cabin, so I could barely see the numbers because my eyes are of a "certain age" and B. The keyboard was not cooperating with me. No problem. I will just turn around and ask this nice Guest Services Rep to do it for me. Unfortunately he'd just called someone out of the other line and he had to put them on the phone with someone to sort their issue out. I waited a few minutes and then the other Rep asked me to come over. I hate this because now there was a long line in the general section and I could feel people giving me the evil eye. I gave her my Gift Cards and my Sail and Sign Card and told her I just wanted to add them to my account. She said "ok how much is on these cards?" I told her that I didn't label them, and they are all different amounts, but I knew what the total was. She said "ok". She swiped the first one and said again"How much is on this card?" I said again "I don't know, they are all different amounts". At this point I was trying not to sound as annoyed as I was. That didn't work, because she was like "oh ok". Deep breath. I reminded myself that I was trying to get right with the Lord, so I just waited patiently for her to load the cards, while silently singing "Be Our Guest" to myself. Why? Cuz, it's one of my favorite songs, and it always makes me happy for some reason. Don't act like I'm the only one with a "happy" song.

Next W wanted to go and make a donation to the casino, and I went back to put my carnation in water then went for my nightly ritual of tea and ice cream with Oreos.

Before I fell asleep I thanked God for Guy Fieri! What that man does with a burger has to be straight from Jesus'cookbook! For God is good. All the time, and all the time, God is good!
