skid10 Posted June 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Got an e-mail from RCCL with the subject "looking forward to welcoming you onboard". There are links attached to the cruise planner for making all purchases and reservations. All well and good except that our cruise is over 300 days away and, of course, the cruise planner won't allow doing any of that this early (except for the spa). When going to cruise planner we get this: Uh oh. It looks like you’re trying to reserve a product too far ahead or too close to your sail date. If you have several weeks to go, try reserving closer to your sail date. If you’re sailing soon, please try to reserve this product once you’re onboard. We booked our last cruise a year in advance and do not remember this email issue. I do not want to unsubscribe because some of their emails are actually useful, but it seems like now we will be getting bombarded for a whole year! setsail Posted June 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2017 It's just 1 of many you will get for having a booked cruise. Keep an eye out as you might be able to get a good deal. You can always call them to book something if it's not on the planner, they are open 24/
knittinggirl Posted June 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Probably automatic email sent to everyone w/ bookings. While we've booked some shore excursions a year out, it's rare. Ignore it.
skid10 Posted June 11, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Thanks setsail and knittinggirl. Nothing beats a great cruise planner sale! We'll just have to be patient and put up with the emails.
Rare pasodancer Posted June 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2017 We are also a year out from our next RCI cruise and have been getting emails a couple times a week - haven't seen any sales yet!
Biker19 Posted June 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Too many e-mails, not enough e-mails, RCI can't win.
skid10 Posted June 11, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Too many e-mails, not enough e-mails, RCI can't win. It's not as much about getting emails as it is about getting emails specific to offers that are not available.

Ocean Boy Posted June 11, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Too many e-mails, not enough e-mails, RCI can't win. I would think that RCI can send out blasts e-mails that are cruise specific. Why bother sending an e-mail to go book stuff in a cruise planner than has nothing available to book or buy? I keep getting them for a cruise coming up on Allure next year. You did say that the spa was available to book. So apparently SOMETHING was applicable in the email they sent you.

Well, I decided to check that out since I never would have looked for anything under spa services. Unfortunately, I can't test your suggestion as when I try to get into the cruise planner it comes back as a "invalid request". Yeah, I know, weekends and RCI's IT.
