ntourtelotte Posted June 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Are there many differences between the Magic and Breeze? For the week we are looking at, 7 days on the Breeze is $800 less for our family of 4. Why? I think I'd pay a about $200 more for transportation two and from the airport in Galveston than Port Canaveral so that is a still a significant savings. The Breeze has 3 port days instead of 4. Is that part of the price difference? One advantage for me is that I'm a little nervous about ship movement while sleeping and I can get a lower, center ship room on the Breeze compared to the Magic. Does that make much difference on the big ships?
Drrandall Posted June 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2017 We are on the breeze in 9 days. We got a great deal on air. $200 round trip from Denver going to galveston
Crusin Hogs Posted June 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Breeze is a lot nicer ship , More tropical décor , Each had a different designer . Also has Thrill Theater ..Magic does not have ... Been on both ships
bury me at sea Posted June 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I've sailed them both. I prefer the Breeze but there's really not much difference. Home port is a big issue for me and I would happily sail on either one that leaves from Galveston. My personal experience is that you'll not feel much movement anywhere unless you're in some pretty rough waters. Enjoy!
ABQrobin Posted June 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Breeze also has the Sushi bar. I love Galveston ships... crowd just seems more friendly and easygoing.
sspectre Posted June 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2017 The Breeze and the Magic are the same class of ship (Dream class). The structure of the ship itself is essentially the same. The decor is the largest difference; Breeze has a cool, tropical feel while Magic looks a bit like a Vegas casino. Most of the amenities are the same and are even in the same location on the ship. Breeze is the newer ship and just came out of dry dock if that's important to you.
Hoosierpop Posted June 29, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2017 With that price difference, hard to pass on the Magic. I guess if the ports make up for the difference in value to you, that's a consideration. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Carol Jones Posted July 1, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2017 We liked them both but enjoyed the decor of the Breeze. It's our favorite carnival ship b Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Siora7777 Posted July 1, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2017 It's probably cheaper because it's going out of Galveston. I try to book the newest ship whenever possible but I've yet to go out of that port. I booked a really cheap cruise once but ended up switching to a cruise out of Florida instead later. It just seemed like too much a hassle. After I started looking a transfers and hotels it really wasn't saving me that much money. I guess they say the fog can get thick out there too at times. Pom Lover Posted July 1, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 1, 2017 We have sailed on both of them numerous times but we prefer the Breeze. We are booked on the Breeze next month.
vamartha Posted July 2, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 2, 2017 We loved the Breeze! The Dream is also the same basic ship and I did prefer the Breeze to the Dream. I will let you know in exactly 119 days what we think about the Magic! I suspect that the Breeze is still going to be my favorite - I just love the Caribbean Resort feel to the decor and I already know going in that the Magic is going to be more neon and less palm trees! :D
Quilcruisers Posted July 2, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 2, 2017 I enjoyed the breeze , very open floor plan but it was weird how everything was sectioned off. The sport bar was nice and backed up to an outside area. Lots of open airy areas and Windows to let the sunlight in. We really liked serenity on breeze too. PS - I don't know how I missed this - but where is the Sports Bar on the Breeze. Was it the Casino Bar? Thanks
etwright Posted July 2, 2017 #15 Share Posted July 2, 2017 I have sailed them bot and we are getting on the Breeze today. I personally love both but the Breeze has an edge as fat as decor of the ship.

We are too! Have only sailed the Breeze once out of Miami, but loved it. We are so happy that they are replacing the Magic with her. Port Canaveral is our favorite port since it is within driving distance pretty easily. We are also from NC, small world. Already have booked her for the 14-day Journey cruise next fall. Can't wait :D
