Received upgrade

We are cruising Uniworld River Queen in August third cruise with Uniworld. We are Heritage club members. We have been on SS Antoinette and SS Royale. First time on one of Uniworld's older ships but this was a deal and we wanted the itinerary. We booked cat 3 and just received an upgrade to cat 2. Larger window We paid extra $$$ for cat 3 should of booked aquarium!!! Oh well!! Happy with cabin...:D

Our first Uniworld cruise was on River Queen, and we enjoyed the ship very much. We are considering booking the Paris & Normandy cruise for next year, but I noticed Heritage Club no longer advertises the cabin upgrade for repeat cruisers. I was planning on booking a category 4 to get the 3, but can't count on that now. I wonder if it's on an as-available basis?

The website used to include it as a benefit... I can't remember if it said "as available." Now it's not even mentioned as a possibility.

I thought back when I took my cruises in 2010 and 2011 it showed upgrades "as available". This confusion may be why the website no longer says anything.

 

I assume that if there are upgrades to be handed out, they would go to Heritage members first. (I can't see anyone just giving every heritage club member who booked an automatic upgrade at time of booking, when they could perhaps sell the cabin for full price. Later, if there are empty cabins, they might consider upgrades.

The upgrades are given 45 days before departure based on availability. I assume the cruise has unsold cabins.

I think the point is, in the 2018 brochure, "upgrade based on availability" is no longer mentioned as a RHC benefit.

We were just on the Uniworld River Princess and were upgraded from 2 to 1. Best cruise ever. Super crew!!!

Yes. And on this ship, I think Cat 1 is actually prettier than the suite.

If I remember cat 2 is large window. We had French balcony twice on cruises large window once and honestly There wasn't a big difference. We spend very little time in our cabin.. our friends had a suite with butler, balcony very nice but I certainly would never spend the money..:rolleyes:
