Carnival Casino Bait and Switch?

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So....my husband and I are booked for the September 30th Premier Cruise on the Splendor.

When I booked my offer over the phone with Carnival, I was told that I would be getting $900 in cash and my husband would be getting $700.

After reading these boards and hearing that some of you print or bring your snail mail offers with you, I decided to contact the casino to confirm our offers.

I did receive a response within an hour or so telling me that my husband was indeed receiving the $700 but mine was only $300. This infuriates me because what I was told and what I am getting is now completely different.

During my conversation with the Carnival rep at the time of booking I asked several times to confirm the dollar amount and she even put me on hold to verify it for me.

The response in the e-mail stated "and we thoroughly reviewed your play and this is the best offer you qualify at this time".....Has my play changed since my last cruise??? I haven't been on another cruise since this offer was given to me....My husband has less play than I do and is getting what he was promised.

This will be my last cruise with Carnival as a result of this deception. Apparently, loyalty means nothing to Carnival......Maybe it's best anyway since I have NEVER gone home a winner.

So...Casino players....beware.....make sure you bring your snail mail offer and get something in writing at the time of booking if it is an online offer, otherwise you will get screwed.....

Frustrated in Florida...........

Did you get an e-mail with the amount of cash? I always get an e-mail stating the amount before I ever get mail.

It was the regular premier offer in my VIFP. That's why i asked for confirmation at time of booking.

My husband actually contacted John Heald about this and John asked for our booking info to look into it.

We cruise at least 3-4 times per year strictly for gambling. Carnival will lose a loyal customer/gambler if this is not rectified. I'm sure NCL would be happy to have us back.

If this is for the latest round of premier cruises that just came out, you should be getting the offers you see now on Carnival.com in snail mail soon. How much casino cash did you get the last time you did a premier cruise?

I always get an e-mail that tells me the amount of cash I will get and once in awhile I'll get regular mail too. I save it to my phone just in case I have any problems once on the ship. I've never found the Carnival reps to have accurate info when it comes to casino bookings.

Anyways, good luck! Let us know how you make out.

This was booked back in May. This will be our first (and probably last Premier). We usually use our BB but they have been lacking choices.

What a bummer. Sorry this happened. I had a similar experience a few years ago. My casino offer had casino cash with it, but when I tried to claim it on the ship, they said I wasn't due any casino cash. It took them the entire cruise to finally get it worked out (shipboard casino staff were emailing land-based casino staff), but I finally got it. After that, like others have said, I always take my printed offer with me. I hope you have a good time in spite of it all.

Sorry to hear they are only giving you $300.

I wish I had such a benefactor.

I knew it wouldn't be long before a snide remark was made by someone.

It has nothing to do with the dollar amount . It's the principle.....You're told one thing and given another.....that is deception.

I don't need a benefactor...if I did, i wouldn't gamble....

So, you got an email that said you would get $900? And they then changed it to $300 even after you showed them the offer that stated $900?

In other words, are they admitting your offer has $900 cash? Or are they disputing that?

They're disputing that..even though I had gotten confirmation at the time of booking. It's my fault not asking for them to send it to me in writing. But what they told me my husband was getting is the same....

Should you not wait a bit until you hear back from JH?

We are not cancelling.....there's really nothing to "wait" for other than to see if they make good on the original offer.

I'm not sure what JH will be able to do....but my husband felt it was worth a try.

We will still go on the cruise, have a great time (this will be our 4th time on the Splendor as it is one of our favorites) but it will make me think about how loyal we have been to Carnival......

Based on this post today I called Carnival about my upcoming Premier B2B cruises in October. My offer when I booked was for $400 for both myself and DH and I have the flyer that I received in the mail. When I spoke to the agent and told him I wanted to check how much we were going to get for the upcoming cruises he said $300 each. I told him I had the flyers and then he said ok you need to bring that to get the $400 each and your CURRENT offer is for $300 each. So without the flyer our cash would be less once onboard. Just a heads up to others.

:D:D:D***************************************UPDATE************************************************:D:D:D

I just received this e-mail from Michael Bayona from Casino VIP Services:

Hi Karen,

My apologies for anyinconveniences but I think there is some confusion here.

Your upcoming cruise isindeed under the casino PC2 offer and your cash offer is for $900. My responsewas confirming that the $900 was the best offer we can make to you on yourcruise as I understood you were unhappy with that amount.

Hopefully I got this right, but you are indeed eligible for $900 on this upcoming cruise based on theprevious Premier Cruise offer your receive.

Let me know if you have anyquestions and/or concerns. Thanks!

Apparently the person who responded to my original email gave the me wrong information.

Thanks to all of you for listening!!!
