FTTF Conquest Aug 3-7 Positive Review

Just on the Conquest Aug 3-7, our sixth cruise and our second cruise with FTTF. I know there is a lot of debate if it is worth it, but from our stand point, we will ALWAYS try and get FTTF. Well worth it for the benefits.

We arrived at the Port at 10:30. Passed our bags to the Porters (with tip of course). Made sure they saw the luggage tags had FTTF. We then entered the priority processing line. We went through the security checks (priority) with our carry-on sodas and bottles of wine, then were directed to one of the windows. She verified our documents, took our picture for the sail and sign cards, and directed us to the FTTF sitting area. We were seated by 10:45.

Shortly after 11:00, we were called to board. Went through two doors, and actually pinged into the ship from the port building, then up the ramp and onto the ship entering in the lobby area. Grabbed our first drink (Cheers prepaid) and headed up to our balcony room 8259 at 11:15.

As part of FTTF, we were able to enter the doors (there are signs saying not to enter until 1:30, but Diamond/Platinum and FTTF are welcome to go to our cabins. Arrived at our door and was pleasantly surprised as our luggage was already outside the door. Room was ready and so 11:20 we are in our room with our luggage. We quickly unpacked and then headed up to Lido for our first Guys Burger.

Half-Moon Cay day (tender port), we went to guest services at 8:00 and were escorted to and put on the tender right away. You get a letter in your cabin telling you where to go and when for priority tender. Awesome and easy.

Priority Debarkation- As part of FTTF, you get priority debarkation. We were given luggage tags for zone 2, and were called to debark at 7:40 (We had a 12:40 flight). Quckly located our luggage in the clearly marked zone area, and went through Customs. There was a significant line, but it moved fairly quickly. We were in a taxi headed to the airport by 8:30.

So again, maybe not for everyone, but well worth the $49. Will do it again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for your positive review. My first Carnival cruise we had priority boarding because my sister booked a junior suite. I have had FTTF on every subsequent cruise. I much prefer to pay for FTTF, with all of its benefits, than to pay extra for a suite.

May I ask what FTTF means?

I'm going to expland on this. It's a program that you purchase as an "excursion" before your cruise. It gives you benefits that diamond and platinum has. You are still below the diamond/platinum level people though. The benefits are: priority security/check in/boarding, access to your cabin as soon as you boards, priority luggage, priority dining reservations, priority tendering, priority debarkation, and you can line up at guest services in the line for diamond/platinum guests.

With the Suite you get priority embarkation, but no early access to the room. That feature alone makes it work it for me. As stated in other replies, the cost depends on the ship and length of cruise. This was a 4 day cruise, so $49.95.

First cruise was in July and we got FTTF. Well worth the price, very similar to your thoughts.

Do other cruise lines have similar perks?

Other cruise lines have perks based on room-type and loyalty, of course....but as far as I know only Carnival offers a capacity-controlled method to purchase many of their perks a la carte.

  • 11 months later...

thank you for your review. i have purchased fttf for our conquest cruise in october.

would you say getting to the port at 10:30 is a good time? we have to park our car at park & go so i want to make sure we get there at a good time.

was the terminal crowded when you got there? we usually cruise royal caribbean and we get to the terminal at 10 & they start boarding who ever is checked in around 10:45-11:00.

i am new to this check in time stuff and i guess i dont have to worry about it since i have fttf.

what time did they actually start the boarding process? i know it depends on when the ship get's cleared.

i am glad to hear your room was open.

i was on youtube and another couple showed a video on boarding the conquest saying they had to wait a long time. they got there at 10. said their room wasn't ready. and they didn't recommend getting it. though they didn't show going to their room, the seemed to just go to the lido deck.

thank you for your help.

I wouldn't be without it. There are those who say it is too expensive. All depends on the person. I don't drink a lot or take a lot of excursions so FTTF is a treat for me and I love it.
