Hi all.

Trying to book a hotel near Port Everglades for 1 night pre-cruise, 21 Apr 2018. Prices at most of our favorites are almost double what we normally pay. Did a search, and could not find any special event that would explain the high prices. Any info on the reason for the high prices? Thanks!

I would think all of April would be considered Spring Break, maybe that's the reason.

My search found most well known hotels in the SE 17 St area between $200-250.

A little further south in the Oakwood Plaza area the Hampton Inn, Cambria Suites and Comfort Suites are all under $150.

Normal prices for the fringe of peak season. Would only be "almost double" to rates in the middle of the summer dregs.

Two weeks earlier rates are more than 50% higher.

March and April is Spring Breaks and the hotels make a killing during that time. Don't expect cheap prices then. I would suggest bidding on Priceline or see if Hotwire has inventory

We've stayed here several times and are booked for a date in April close to yours for about $125.00 per night. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and they offer a free shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port ($8.00 pp), and a "free" breakfast.

We stayed during spring break this past March at Hyatt Place for $219.00 per night booking with

http://www.valuetrips.com and was the best price for our time frame. Great hotel and location...Will stay there again as opposed to Embassy Suites where we have usually stayed.

Their schedule for your dates isn't open yet but keep checking.

Prices start climbing during the Holidays in December, but the months of March and April they peak! Look to book these dates very early, or if you want to wait it out, try again around February.

We will be in Miami the last week of March and we will stay at the Atton Brickell Miami Hotel one night pre-cruise for $194.00 (Express Deals Priceline) and the Marriott Miami Biscane Bay one night post-cruise for $217.96 (Hotwire). Off season, these hotels would go for $100 or less.

Expensive time of the year to cruise out of FLL or MIA.

Enjoy!

Spring Break and still peak season here ...

I did a Hotwire search for April 21 and found two 4* hotels in the Fort Lauderdale Beach area. One is $148/night ($202 plus tax and fees - king bed) and the other is $166/night ($230 including tax and fees).
