Does your latitudes level get bumped when sailing in a penthouse?

Other lines (primarily celebrity and royal) bump you up to highest level status for the duration of your cruise if sailing in premium suites. Does anyone know if NCL does this for their passengers? This is our first time sailing Norwegian.

Your Latitudes level on a cruise is the level you are at when the cruise starts independent of room type. If you booked a suite, you should have an additional 1 Latitudes point per day credited at the end of the cruise. Any other perks would be based on having a suite (butler, concierge, etc) and the level of the suite as shown on NCL's website.

I am sorry to tell you that the answer is no. You do not start earning latitude points until your first cruise is over. You will have all the suite perks that come with the cabin. That includes butler, concierge, breakfast and lunch at a specialty or the haven restaurant, reserved seating at some shows. Also priority embarkation and debarkation. The butler will deliver special treats every afternoon. You should check out ncl.com for a more complete listing.

The Latitudes Rewards Program:

https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program

You earn rewards points for every cruise you are on - AFTER THE CRUISE is completed.

The ONLY case where one would be bumped to a higher latitudes rewards level would be

upon completion of the first leg of a back-to-back cruise - where the 1st leg cruise rewards

points moves one into the next level. If not pointed out to NCL the perks of the next level

may not even be noted during the 2nd leg until another later cruise.

Remember to keep track of them - especially if moving into the Platinum level where there

are dinners laundry and a free bottle of bubbly.

Also remember that there is a 1 year time limit to dispute the rewards points awarded or

NOT awarded as the case might be.

Study the Latitudes Reward Point program - LINK provided above.

Thanks for the information. We are in a suite but our first ncl cruise. We are elite on celebrity and diamond on royal but when we sail in a suite they give us the temporary premium status with all the perks...discounts and free internet time, laundry etc. When the cruise is done we get the points from the cruise added to our elite status as usual...working towards the next level.

Perks for the suite and perks for Latitude status are totally independent

Yes to that answer, and many of them are the same of similar.

Think of it as VIP status based on different factors. In fact, at one time, certain levels with the casino would get you perks including eating at Cagneys for breakfast and lunch. (no longer offered).

I do believe folks could easily think they are getting higher status because they are in a suite.

Question to the OP - if you sail on that same cruise line the next time in a balcony, what level are you at? (bet you do not get lifetime higher level from one trip in a suite)

Just to clarify, are you in the Haven or a Villa? Which ship are you on?
