Clarea Posted August 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) New to RCL considering TA on either Brilliance or Rhapsody, suggestions or comments Plz. Can't go wrong with either. Kiddie pool area on Brilliance. Great if you have kids, but makes the main pool area smaller than that on Rhapsody. Brilliance still has a movie theater. az_tchr Posted August 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Can't go wrong with either. Kiddie pool area on Brilliance. Great if you have kids, but makes the mail pool area smaller than that on Rhapsody. Brilliance still has a movie theater. Have never seen a "mail" pool. Can you post letters there and float them across? LOL
Ocean Dancer Posted September 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Have never seen a "mail" pool. Can you post letters there and float them across? LOL No, it's where you drop off all your postcards. Haven't you gotten the update email yet?:*

papaflamingo Posted September 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2017 New to RCL considering TA on either Brilliance or Rhapsody, suggestions or comments Plz. Both are great ships. Brilliance is newer and has some things that Rhapsody doesn't if they matter. I haven't been on Brilliance, but was on Serenade which is the same class and have been on Rhapsody a number of times. On Brilliance you'll find (as mentioned) a movie theater, also Brilliance has a Pub and pool tables I believe (Serenade did). Personally I love both classes of ships as I enjoy the "down time" of being on the ocean and relaxing.

Brilliance does have the pool tables, but the last few times we've sailed on her, there are signs near the pool tables indicating that the self-leveling mechanism is permanently out of service. Rare island lady Posted September 1, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2017 OP: I love both ships and have them both booked again for this winter. I would not hesitate to do a TA on either one, though I do favor the Radiance series ships just a bit over the Vision class.

Janet524 Posted September 1, 2017 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2017 We prefer the Brilliance. A bit larger and felt like a little more "elbow room.". Did a TA on her a few years ago and love it! nktwinpeaks Posted September 1, 2017 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Brilliance TA in April 2017 was fabulous, we booked her for Spring 2018 TA.
Ofmyheart Posted September 1, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted September 1, 2017 I am leaning toward the Rhapsody due to the itinerary. We have not been to the Canary's or Coco Cay. Truly only considering RCL because the 2 ships are coming into TPA in Nov which fits are schedule. PLZ keep the comments and recommendations coming. Crism Posted September 2, 2017 #17 Share Posted September 2, 2017 We did the last Brazil to Barcelona TA on the Rhapsody last April. It was absolutely amazing and probably the best cruise I've ever taken. We've got the Jewel booked from San Juan to Rome next year and can't wait for that. I'd pick whatever itinerary you think is best and go with it. Also, if I had to guess, Rhapsody is probably cheaper. The Canaries are awesome! Ofmyheart Posted September 3, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted September 3, 2017 PattiHere, I am leaning toward Rhapsody. We live half time in Apollo Beach, I am NOT a snowbird, I am an Apollo Beach Manatee, I need to be in/on the water. Snow birds go anywhere!
