gillyg Posted September 8, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted September 8, 2017 thank you. looking at the site it would appear you need to choose an entry time. can you buy them at the gate?
Rare mskaufman Posted September 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2017 You can buy them at the gate but you wait on line and have to take an entry time that might still be available. You cannot show up, buy a ticket and just walk in.
EnricM Posted September 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2017 ... well, you "technically" could, assuming the first free slot is at the moment you're there... but it's very unlikely as this park is visited by a lot of locals and tourists alike. So as @mskaufman suggested, better pre-book!
rdt10 Posted September 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2017 We had to wait 2 hours for the next open time for the Monument section. You can walk around the rest of Park Guell but cannot enter the main Monument section until the scheduled time.
Rare mskaufman Posted September 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 9, 2017 ... well, you "technically" could, assuming the first free slot is at the moment you're there... but it's very unlikely as this park is visited by a lot of locals and tourists alike. So as @mskaufman suggested, better pre-book! We booked in advance for the first afternoon we were in Barcelona and our flight was six hours late. We were not charged to change our time but the next available time was about two hours after we arrived at the park (I think our new time was 8 pm). We went in for dinner across the street from the park (surprisingly good vegetarian paella) and then went in the park at our new time. In the end it all worked out. However, if we were not exchanging tickets we would have had to wait on a rather long line.
TMLAalum Posted September 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 10, 2017 Work Underway at Parc Guell The website indicates that construction at the Parc Natura should not affect one's visit, but would Cruise Critic member be able to speak to what they experienced personally since improvements began July 24? Gracias!
Myneko Posted September 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2017 Last June we just "showed up" ... our wait for timed tickets would have been 4 hours! We just enjoyed the park, Gaudi house etc. Still a good day ;)

Gracias! We were there today. The upper platform is under construction but only half of it. While it doesn't look as nice as if there was no construction, it doesn't affect the overall experience of the Park at all. Do not be concerned in the slightest. seeriteR Posted September 14, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2017 Is the park busy in early December? Should we get advanced tickets? Sent from my BNTV600 using Forums mobile app
seacruiser123 Posted September 21, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 21, 2017 What is the best way to get from the port to Parque Guell? And how long would it take? I am trying to figure out what time slot I should book if I go straight there once we have the clearance to get off the ship...any help would be appreciated :-) Sent from my iPad using Forums
EnricM Posted September 21, 2017 #13 Share Posted September 21, 2017 @seeriteR: it's not a matter of months, it's a matter of limited hourly entry. For conservation reasons, only 800 people/hour are allowed in. Note as well that, this site, like a number of other sites in the city, work on a time-slot fashion, that is, when you purchase a ticket -regardless whether it's online or in-situ, you're assigned (or rather you choose) a time band to get in. If you risk purchasing it in-situ, you might be at the park say at 10am and not have a free slot until hours later -or depending on the time of the year, not even in that day. It's equally true that sometimes, on weeks when the city has less influx of visitors, whether foreign or nationals, you might be lucky and be able to purchase a ticket to enter almost right away... but again, that's always a risky bet. @seacruiser123: official name is Park Güell -just sayin', in case you look at any map or street sign. From the port you can grab a taxi and will take you to Park Güell in under 30' and will cost you no more than 20€ (even less). Alternatively, take the portbus (T3) to Columbus statue and there, at Drassanes station take the metro (green line L3) direction towards Trinitat Nova and stop in Vallcarca (seven stops: approx 25'). From there you have a 15' walk to the west gate of the park and 5' more to the entrance of the Monumental area. Again, take these estimates with a grain of salt. Peteymil Posted July 19, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 19, 2018 If I take a taxi right to the park, and I bought my tickets online, where should I asked to be dropped off?
