During all these tornados , where are all the ships docked? Have not read anything on this site.:)

I don't think they "dock". They head out to sea and use radar to avoid the storms. A lot of passengers are getting extended cruise days...lucky dogs.:D:D

I think you meant hurricanes. It is much safer at sea, avoiding the storm as much as possible.

No Princess ships are currently sailing in the Gulf of Mexico or Caribbean. The ships did their normal cruises in Europe, Canada or wherever they are. Ships from other cruise lines stayed at sea away from the storms.

Exactly. There is a pretty long list of ships that had to change or cancel their itinerary but it doesn't include any Princess ships.

Other cruise lines that had ships due in Florida ports Sat, Sun or Monday cancelled the cruise for this week. For the cruises that were due to return on the weekend, some came back earlier on Thursday, letting off passengers that wanted off. The ships then headed out again, mostly to the western Gulf of Mexico. They will return to Florida when safe to do. Passengers staying on get mostly free days - for example for a cruise that should have ended Saturday, the passengers will only pay the daily tip fee plus and expenses from Sunday onwards.

That's true. Much safer at sea--not only can ships avoid much of the storms but also can orient the ship to oncoming waves. And the passengers may be dogs all right--as in "sick as dogs".

The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port has approved daylight vessel operations at Port Everglades in the Northport and Midport areas.

 

It's good to see the port reopened.
