heathermiller86nj Posted October 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Hi, I remember recently reading that Royal Caribbean was allowing pre-cruise purchases to be made using onboard credit. Is this still an option when logging into mycruise through their website? Thank you very much.

iahawkfan21 Posted October 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2017 If it's OBC from Royal you will see it at the top of the screen when you login to the cruise planner. If it's OBC from say your TA then you won't be able to use it online ahead of time.
imlulu Posted October 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2017 OBC from TA or just from RCL?
jamesr3939 Posted October 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Only the RCCL OBC will show up in your Cruise Planner.
Clarea Posted October 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2017 OBC from TA or just from RCL? TA OBC cannot be used pre-cruise.
DKNYC Posted October 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2017 I have a related question. What if I don't want to use the OBC when buying things on the planner. Do I have an option to opt out? No biggie, just wondering. Denise

No biggie, just wondering. Denise Yes. It shows that it is available, but you have the option to not select and use it. We just decided to use our $100 OBC for specialty dining onboard and not use it on a cruise planner purchase.

Denise Yes, it's actually set up very well. There is a sliding bar that allows you to use all, part, or none of your OBC toward payment.
heathermiller86nj Posted October 2, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I once remember having leftover onboard credit and being refunded to my credit card. Does anyone know offhand if it's the travel agent's credit or Royal Caribbean onboard credit that will be refunded to a credit card if unused? Thank you. Coralc Posted October 2, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Royal Caribbean onboard credit is not refundable, with the exception of the recent storm cruisers who apparently did receive refundable onboard credit.
tanyaewa Posted October 2, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 2, 2017 just a word of caution that your OBC can fluctuate with currency exchange. My CDN is worth more to the USD recently - but therefore my OBC converts to less. I should have used it right away (although it's only about $12 difference) On the flip side - my drinks package went down slightly with the exchange
Duffys wife 1957 Posted December 27, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 27, 2017 On the top of my cruise planner for my cruise.... it states 250.00 USD ... It states that" You can use your onboard credit in cruise planner. Just add products to your cart to get started. Can I use it onboard instead of pre cruise? Can I transfer it to another cruise? Can I put the credit toward a new cruise? Sorry for so many questions..... ;)

Clarea Posted December 27, 2017 #18 Share Posted December 27, 2017 The only exception is if you have OBC from Visa Points, that can be transferred to another cruise.
