Overnight Hotel near Miami Airport

We're flying in the day before our cruise and need a decent hotel recommendation. Our budget is between $100-$150 a night.

I agree with the person that posted about hotwire.com deals, especially if you can score a deal for Intercontinental downtown (on Chopin Plaza). Alternatively, Holiday Inn on Biscayne Blvd. is a popular cruise port choice. Both of those hotels are close to the cruise port and an easy taxi ride from the airport. They are both also easy walking distance to Bayside Marketplace which many people enjoy for a 1 night pre-cruise experience because there are great shopping and bayside restaurant options. If you can't score a deal on either of those, you'd probably be better off staying at an airport hotel.

I got the intercontinental from a hotwire deal once. It was a great place to stay.

We always stay at the Intercontinental. Its not close the the airport, but VERY close to the port so pretty much a wash there. You can usually get a deal on it, and if you use one of the sites that shows you pics but keeps the name a 'secret' its very recognizable. Bayside's right next door for food, shopping, walking, etc.

There is a Marriott cluster very near the Airport at 1201 NW Le Jeune Road (about 10 minute drive). It has a Marriott, a Courtyard by Marriott, a Residence Inn, and a Fairfield Inn. There is a free shuttle from the airport to all of these. You can get a cab at any of these to go to the Port for a fixed fee of around $25.00. If you have a Carnival Transfer, you can take the hotel shuttle back to the airport the next morning to catch it.

not sure what the prices will be at the time you are cruising, but my favorite is Hampton Inn Miami airport blue lagoon. Service is excellent, rooms are fine too, breakfast is included and decent, and they have a shuttle to the port next day for about 10.00 pp, or if more than two, taxi etc might be a better deal. The location is excellent, and accross the street is a shopping area, strip mall, with publix supermarket, liquor store, some restaurants, a cuban restaurant and a starbucks and some other fast food ones nearby, as well as a CVS a block a way.

Embassy suites miami airport is also ok, but there is nothing nearby to even walk to, so if you only need a place to sleep, with breakfast next day, it is fine too. Just seems isolated to me. Yes also as Bo said, a nice managers reception with snacks and drinks included around 5 to 7pm or so, is included.

We just stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon 2 weeks ago, before our cruise, and it was great! A really good free breakfast and a $10 shuttle to the cruise port. Get to the shuttle early though, they leave exactly when scheduled.

Exactly. I love staying there. Lots of international airline crews stay there as well. Had a good time in the bar with a TAP Portugal crew :')
