UKPete71 Posted October 30, 2017 Author #155 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Sunday afternoon was a lazy day by the pool for us. It was a bit surreal sitting in a jacuzzi in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as we listened to a live band. There was some ice carving pool side during the afternoon. The evening show in the Reflection Theatre was vocalist Chris Ritchie. It was the first time we had seen him and he reminded us of another vocalist we've seen on other cruises, Sam Kane. UKPete71 Posted October 30, 2017 Author #156 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Between the main shows there was a game of Friendly Feud in Celebrity Central, Guests v Officers. I was one of the six members of the Guests team. The Guests won 3-2, with each team member receiving a medal. The MDR menus for Sunday evening. My DW is a type 1 diabetic and when she tested her sugar levels before dinner her sugars were low. A spoke to our waiter and he went and got a few small meringues from the galley for her to eat and bring her levels up without spoiling her dinner. After dinner there was a theme party in the Grand Foyer, Groove. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #159 Share Posted October 31, 2017 As Select members we were invited to a Captain's Club back stage tour of the Reflection Theatre this morning. It started with a Q&A with five of the cast before we were split in to two (large) groups. The tour took us on to the stage and to the side, going round to the dressing rooms and costumes area. Whilst we were on the tour Captain Dimitrios gave the ship's location in his morning announcement. He said we were 27 degrees 48 minutes North, 49 degrees 31 minutes West. Mapping the location on Google gives... He said we had travelled 1790 miles since leaving Tenerife, with 1646 miles to go. The sea depth was 13,000ft. The waves would be the same as yesterday at 4/5ft, with the temperature today being 77F. The nearest land is Bermuda, at 820 miles away. The Celebrity Today for Monday 30th October. UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #160 Share Posted October 31, 2017 After the back stage tour it was the final part of the Progressive Golf challenge. I ended up joint second of about 30 who played all three days. A poor first day scuppered me sadly. From the golf it was a late breakfast before a quick trip to decks 3 & 4. The Grand Foyer had been decorated overnight ready for Halloween. The afternoon was spent resting in our stateroom. I've somehow managed to get the beginning of a cold so I didn't feel up to much. The 7 & 9 shows in the Reflection Theatre were a Canadian comedian Doug Funk. The show consisted of him getting a few people up on stage for some audience participation. Some were more willing than others. Between the shows there was Wheel Of Fortune in Celebrity Central. It had been billed as Guests vs Officers, but ended up Guests vs Guests, with the room split down the middle and an Officer on each side. UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #161 Share Posted October 31, 2017 The MDR menus for Monday evening. When I said I wanted nothing for dessert the assistant waiter bought me this. [emoji23] It was off to the solarium after dinner for Silent Disco #3 of the cruise, complete with a real mermaid. UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #162 Share Posted October 31, 2017 Before going back to our stateroom after the disco we headed to the Oceanview Cafe. Preparations for Halloween were well underway there too! We thought we'd get in to the spirit and have decorated our stateroom door. UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #165 Share Posted October 31, 2017 Bang on 10am Captain Dimitrios gave his morning announcement. The ship's location was 26 degrees 47 minutes North, 58 degrees 19 minutes West. Mapping the location on Google gives... He said we had travelled 2261 miles since leaving Tenerife, with 1174 miles to go. The sea depth was 6,500m, which is 21,000ft. The wind is 19 knots from an easterly direction, with waves at 4/5ft. The temperature today being 26C, 79F. The nearest land is St David's Island in Bermuda, at 500 miles away. The Celebrity Today for Tuesday 31st October. UKPete71 Posted October 31, 2017 Author #166 Share Posted October 31, 2017 This morning saw the Egg Drop Challenge, with teams dropping their packages containing three eggs from deck 7 at a target on deck 3 in the Grand Foyer. The winners were the only team to successfully land their package in the target area and keep all three eggs intact. Some others also managed to land their eggs intact, but were outside of the target area. And then there were some who had eggs smash on landing, or who failed to get there eggs to land at all, after their package got stuck in the atrium's tree on the way down. UKPete71 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #168 Share Posted November 1, 2017 We had lunch in the MDR on Tuesday. We try and do it at least once per cruise. The 7 & 9 show in the Reflection Theatre was Andrew Derbyshire. He was on Britain's Got Talent in 2014 having also appeared on another show, Pop Idol in 2001. The MDR menus for Tuesday evening. UKPete71 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #169 Share Posted November 1, 2017 After dinner there was a Monster Bash party in the Grand Foyer. Whilst the majority of people hadn't dressed up for Halloween it was great to see so many had. A few people commented on our costumes, with the most popular question being whether we had bought them with us from home? We had. The costumes were thin and didn't weigh much at all. UKPete71 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #174 Share Posted November 1, 2017 After his morning announcement Captain Dimitrios, along with the Hotel Director and the F&B Director did a Q&A session in the Reflection Theatre. With Captain Dimitrios in attendance it was always going to be busy. He answered the questions with humour, especially as most of the questions headed in his direction. This afternoon we visited Future Cruises and booked the westbound TA on Silhouette next November. It's an itinerary we have done before on Eclipse, but it'll be our first time on Silhouette. The offer of OBC and free grats for booking whilst on board was enough to draw us in, as it equates to a 'saving' of around $500 when all things considered.
