Ohserendipity Posted October 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Kinda new to this... if I use a credit card it gets charged in euros right and then should be converted at going rate by credit card company right? I know my card has no foreign transaction fee.
boscobeans Posted October 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2017 That is how our cards have worked in the past.. We are however bringing down some small denomination Euros for smaller purchases in place they MAY not accept U.S. currency, as recommended for Martinique on the NCL website. bosco
tbmrt Posted October 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2017 I just booked an excursion in Martinique online where it shows Euros. It was billed immediately on my credit card in USD. I checked and the conversion was exact. No other fees.
smokinmike Posted October 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Best way to buy stuff - you get the best rate of exchange and it is specific to the date of purchase. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

cruisegus Posted January 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Best way to buy stuff - you get the best rate of exchange and it is specific to the date of purchase. My experience is it is the conversion rate for the day it actually posts - in Europe that can take up to 5 business days after the actual transaction. Still it is the best rate of exchange.
