Hal Reservation Transfer to TA --- Time Limit?

If you make a reservation with HAL, is there a time limit as to when you can transfer it over to a TA? I know some cruise lines say the transfer has to happen within so many days of making the initial reservation.

It must be before the final payment, I believe.

Just be certain you known when HAL wants your final payment -- check the date carefully so there isn't any misunderstanding.

You transfer your cruise to a TA anytime up to 1 day before final payment.

We have done it many times. I usually do it about a week before final payment just to make sure it goes through, mostly because I'm a worrier. ;)

Also check with the TA you will be using. Some want it several days in advance to ensure the payment goes through.

See when the TA will make your final payment. I noticed our cruise far went down a week before one of our cruises so I called my TA. Turned out she had made the final payment (never mentioned how early she would be doing this) so we lost out in saving some money.

Why would the TA actually having made final payment matter? Cancellation deadlines go by the calendar and may coincide with final payment date but you can still cancel (or reprice your cruise) up until the date when cancellation penalties apply, no?
