Hong Kong early arrival

We will be arriving at 10am after a very long flight. Does anyone know where Nautica will dock February 4? We know we won't be able to board that early but will we be able to check our luggage in at the dock early and then wander around for a bit? (and yes, I know it is better to arrive a day or so in advance but couldn't fit it into the schedule this time).

Ocean Terminal is within a large Shopping Mall. You need to find out from Oceania at what time they open their luggage drop off. They will put signs for it in the mall. Without the signs, the inconspicuous side door can never be found.

Unless the mall has reorganized everything since the spring of 2017, the waiting area at the far end of the mall is only for the local Star Line. In the spring of 2016 we waited in a crummy little room with a few chairs for the outgoing Ponant ship. Our taxi dropped us off outside the mall and we had to find our way around

When we arrived on a H-L ship in the spring of 2017, we were in the same crummy room to wait for our pre-ordered limousine. The limousine (Blacklane) was able to drive directly up on the pier outside the crummy room.

Rumor has it that there will be a new terminal for cruise ships on the pier next to the mall.

A Google search indicates that the trip from the airport to the port will take about an hour by car. By the time you clear Customs andImmigration, it will be past 11:00 AM. With the travel time, you will not arrive at the port until after 12:00. Porters will be available to take your luggage.

Cheers,

Don

No wasted space in Hong Kong. Terminal is also a mall (Harbour City) and serves Star Lines and other small ships.

You will drop your luggage in the rear of the terminal -- actually it is the loading dock behind the terminal/mall. Our taxi driver did know the area we circled around the terminal (see map) and we dropped our luggage off and there was someone from O to escort upstairs to the checkin area. We did this at 11am.

There is no place to store your luggage in the mall. At least there was non I could find. If you can drop off the luggage at 10am and cannot board,, plenty to shop in the mall but better off -- just walk outside and you can take a quick RT on the Star Ferry.

Porters are available at the inconspicuous door inside the mall. We still had to get from the taxi drop-off at one of the mall entrances to the door inside the mall. Did Oceania arrange this differently?

They had an escort that led us form the drop off into the mall and to the checkin.
