Casino questions...a bit confused...

Hello Cruisers! I am a bit confused about what is the best way to play in the casino. I am not a huge gambler, but have allotted myself about 300 dollars. Is it better to play with cash, or is it better to use the Sign and sail card to pay at the end of the cruise. Benefits or drawbacks to either? Also is it worth putting your sign and sail card in the machine when you gamble? Thanks in advance!

You want to use your sign and sail card, as depending on the points you accumulate, you could be eligible for drinks on us card, or a drawing for a free cruise. As far as cash or sign and sail money, that is up to you, makes no difference in gambling.

It's a must to use your card when playing slots! That's the only way to cash out your big wins ;)

It's very quick and a slot attendant will help and give you a free lanyard which for us is also a must, we keep it around our necks, it's easy to misplace a card

As far as cash or credit card via your sign and sail it depends on if your like us we use gift cards that we got a 10% discount. So for us we save that on our losses. Or if you have a card that gives cash back it may be better to charge it and pay as soon as the bill comes in after your trip

All the replies are correct, IF you're only playing the machines. Table games take cash. If you want a cash advance via your S&S card, they will charge you a 3% fee.

Just thought I'd mention that!;)

They don't charge 3% if you do it at the machine. Just hit "Charge Sign and Sail" at the machine. It's the only way I play and never a fee...:)

Unless you are very lucky $300 isn’t going to get you much. To get a drink card it’s 1500 points or $4500 in slot machine.

Used cash, so you can keep track of your winnings and or lost. SS card must be in machine and you cash out onto cars then go to the cage and Tuen it into cash.

Just off the Fantasy. I started with $50 from my S&S account. I ended up losing all of that by the second day. I put on another $50 dollars. I immediately won over $100 and never put another dime on my card. I played only slots for 5 days. Received free drinks after reaching 1000 points on the 4th day. Cashed out at the end of the 5th day with $160 on my account and almost 1600 points. Used my winnings to buy myself a new Tanzinite ring :p.

Good for you! I would be thrilled to have that kind of luck. My husband would too. He would probably buy me another ring to go with the ring I purchased. LOL

Ya never know. I put $100 in a slot on the Paradise on the first night. Was betting $2 a spin, and stay until closing... next day I had free drinks at 4pm. Same $100 that I put in...

To earn a DOU (drinks on us) card on a cruise of 4 day or less you need 1000 points. On cruises of 5 days or more 1500 points. This change just occurred. Points on a slot machine are one point for every $2.50 run through the machine. ($3750 on a 7 day) For video poker it is one point for every $5.00. Tables are rated by amount and time played. You do not accumulate points for table play.

I just got off a 5 day cruise 4 days ago and it was 1000 points. Was this change in the last couple of days?

That's a wonderful thing isn't it! We usually gamble the most the first day or two because in our experience the machines are more open and let us play longer. We always have the DOU card by day 2 or should I say my wife does :)
