gmh300968 Posted November 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2017 For select dining reservation made online, do they assume that when you are booking for two people for a set time that you want a table for two, or do you have to specify this when you turn up? Also, do they have two queues; one for reservations and one for walk-ins?
cruising cockroach Posted November 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2017 They'll ask for your preference, and there are two lines.
suec12 Posted November 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2017 For those of you reading this thread, if you made reservations for select, were they honored? like within a 15 minute window? Last time we did select, our experience was dismal - but it was for a party of 6 / 8.
PENNST66 Posted November 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2017 For those of you reading this thread, if you made reservations for select, were they honored? like within a 15 minute window? Last time we did select, our experience was dismal - but it was for a party of 6 / 8. We used select dining on our last cruise with reservations and we were sitting at our table for two each evening within 15 minutes of our reserved time! We also request once on the ship a table for two by a window which were given each evening of the cruise! The only reason for the wait was the party before us was taking a little longer than normal to finish their meal. When this happened we were given a buzzer so you could go get a drink while waiting! It was a great experience and we are doing it again this upcoming cruise! Hope this helped!

Last time we did select, our experience was dismal - but it was for a party of 6 / 8. I, personally, would not call our experience 'dismal', as we were a party of six (6) and several nights had a wait of 20 - 25 minutes without any reservation looking to dine between 6.30p - 7.15p. We knew it would possibly be a wait because of the popular time and additionally, we wanted a specific waiter and sommelier... There were diversions abounding and surrounding us while we waited... bon voyage
illiniwahoo Posted November 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2017 We tend to dine later (8pm), but in four cruises I don't think we have waited longer than 10 minutes. Many time we would walk right up with no line and be seated right away. Other times we would spend a few minutes in line to reach the hostess stand, and a few minutes waiting to be escorted to our seats. I have never been given a buzzer. mafig Posted November 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2017 If you are given a buzzer and you want to go to a bar to wait, what bar is the closest you can use if you have the Classic package? I know the Martini bar is there, but do they serve drinks other than martinis that you can get with Classic? Looking at the deck plans, do we have to walk to the casino bar? davekathy Posted November 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 3, 2017 We had reservations for select dining (5:30) table for two on the Infinity 17-24 September. We had the same table each evening (our request) so we never had to wait.

(on Reflection) Yes they do serve drinks that are on the Classic package at the Martini Bar. The other options would be the Cellar Masters opposite side of the Martini Bar on the same level 4 or alternately you could go down to 3 and the Passport Bar. Lots of options Sent from my iPhone using Forums
