Trying to think of something special for the hubby

a little background....back in May my MIL gifted us with the cash to pay for this cruise. Last week she passed away. So when we set sail in three weeks it will be on our last gift from her. Should I or should I not do something for my husband...I.e. send something to our room? I wouldn’t know what would be a good idea. Thoughts? What would you do?

I cant think of anything appropriate, maybe bring him a gift-like a framed photo of his mom?

Mom would want you to have a good time so get out of your room and just enjoy yourselves as much as possible.

When we took a trip with money from his mother who died before the trip, we raised a glass of wine in a toast to her and discussed some happy memories of her.

I agree with NMLady, a toast to your mom in law and/or maybe one extra nice dinner at a specialty dining room in her honor.

The toast, photo album, and specialty dinner are all nice ideas. Just be sure to make the extra effort to be there for him, in whatever way he needs it. His emotions might be all over the place on the cruise as his thoughts go to his mother and the recent loss. It's very sweet of you to be thinking of ways to make it extra special for him.

As a guy who isn't "mushy" I'd say do something like go for a drink at a bar on the ship - each order something that you would not normally try and then toast her and talk about her during that drink - share fun memories and how you know she would have wanted you to just have fun. I know that if my wife did that for me it would mean more than photos or anything else...

Maybe he would enjoy a massage to relieve some of the stress of losing his Mom? My hubby would!

I think his Mom would be saying hit the Casino, that was her thing. I know it’s going to be a little sentimental and such. I just need for him to relax a bit. Drinks and slots in her honor would make her happy. I may suggest that to him.

Maybe take her favourite flower or flower petals on board and let them go over the side to say goodbye and thank you for the cruise

Get some damn good, top quality marijuana in one of the ports and get stoned out of your minds and enjoy the beach.
