Embarkation day on Divina - a couple of questions

We will be boarding the Divina in one week. This is our first time on MSC. We plan to arrive at the ship around 11 or 11:30. What time will we be able to get into our cabin? I remember reading on reviews that we have to input our credit card info after we board, and we need to go to the casino to get our Black Card vouchers. Any advice offered to make our embarkation easy and seamless is greatly appreciated.

Doors open for check-in about 1030 and boarding starts around 1145-1200 and you have a few days to register your credit card and there are a few places where you can do this , we always go to the one by the atrium on the second day and register the card with no lines.Cabins ready at 130.

Go alllllll around the buffet it changes a lot and some stuff does not show up again after boarding day.

If you have done a status match print out your pdf so you go to a priority check in line at the terminal.

Credit card you can do first or second day. I’ve never been in a rush and never waited in line. I would prefer they do it in the terminal.

For the drink tickets head to the casino any time after boarding. There will be staff there to give out tickets. Have a receipt or invoice w you for sure!

Use the exterior promenade decks to bypass choke point in the Golden Jazz Lounge

On one of the sea days there is an opera if that is your thing in the afternoon.

First formal night there may be some free cocktails offered at the wine bar around 5pm....

A good example of that was the prosciutto. It was offered on that initial first day lunch buffet and did not appear again. I thought that was unusual but then again, there were many things I experienced on the Divina that I have not seen on other cruises.

Instead of prosciutto, there was speck on other days in the buffet.

We register our credit cards as we board (usually around noon - 1PM). There are no lines at any of the kiosks and we know that the chore is done.

Thanks! I know I'll want to get that card registered ASAP.

Is it possible to register CC during pre-cruise check in on line?

Don’t forget to sign up for the meet and mingle you get free drinks a slab of fantastic fresh cake. Also 45 minuets with the captain and senior staff actually talking with them and shaking their hands. Also a free group photo.

Also the black party was very good end of September [emoji3]daf3cf1ca6538d4622a4aff3d6f2e442.jpg

No. Must be done on the ship.

Make sure you use a card with no foreign transaction fees. All of MSC's charges go through a bank in France.

I use my Discover card because of the lack of foreign transaction fees. Check with your card issuer about foreign fees.

Since September they have not been issuing drink vouchers in the casino. Fantastica and purchased vouchers were in our cabin on day one, sign the receipt and give it back to the steward. Black card vouchers were also in the cabin day one but all party/gathering invitations are brought to the cabin the day before the event as Black status perks were spread out over the length of the cruise. It makes planning ahead a little difficult. At specialty restaurants and the spa they did not ask for the vouchers, just if that is how we wanted to pay and then swiped our sail card.

Where do you sign up for the meet and greet? Can you do it online before boarding?

If you press browse and then go to MSC. The 4th one down at the top is something like.... new from MSC Meet and mingle party. There is a link in post number 1.

We had a great time and I got to try out my French from school [emoji3]

No idea but when you board tell them you want an invite and also guest relations. On your roll call ask someone to let you know what the invite time and venue is. I’m sure they won’t turn you away if you show them a post on your phone etc. Say hi to Wesley from Mark & Jane from Portsmouth (Yacht Club) and I’m sure you’ll be in. [emoji3]
