03063Dad Posted December 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2017 I took a screenshot of the cruise planner prices a few weeks back for our February cruise on the Oasis. Classic Soda and Voom was listed as 25% off onboard, $19 a day. Today it has the same 25% off banner but it is $21. Should I just keep holding out, seems like these are pretty arbitrary. Clarea Posted December 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2017 No reason to delay. If the price goes down, just cancel and re-order.
markbach Posted December 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2017 The deluxe package also went up $2 (from $43 to $45) for our Feb Oasis sailing within the past week.
The Scurvy Pirate Posted December 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2017 I noticed it too. Maybe onboard pricing is going up by $8.00? Or maybe they are going to do a 30% off, which then takes it back down to the old 25% off... another perceived "sale" by RCI.
iahawkfan21 Posted December 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Perceived sale is exactly that. For one half of our recent b2b, the price stayed constant for months. On the other one, it went down a couple times. As Bob mentioned, if you're going to buy it, do it now. If the price declines, it's easy to cancel and rebook. The Scurvy Pirate Posted December 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Was checking again this morning. The price of the Deluxe Package went up another $3.00 to $48/pp, but still showing 25% off of onboard prices. On 12/6 it was $43/pp and on 12/19 was $45/pp, all stating the same 25% off. The only thing I can think is that because the next two weeks are Christmas/New Years cruises, maybe the on-board prices are actually higher than "normal" and that could account for the change in price? It will be interesting to see what happens in January. Oddly, on 12/17 it was showing Chops at $49/pp and on 12/18 it dropped to $39/pp and then yesterday/today back up to the $49... There truly appears no rhyme or reason to the pricing. The best advise is, if you think its a good price, go ahead and buy. If the price drops, you can always re-do it at the lower price. reefdmain Posted December 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 20, 2017 I scored on the lower refreshment package during the 30% sale. It went down $8 a day from the $26 I paid a week ago. Paid $18. Every little bit helps.
HallOfPromise Posted December 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 20, 2017 I made the mistake of waiting until today to buy the Deluxe + Voom package. But I figure might as well get it before it goes up again, and will now keep an eye on any price drops. We would have saved $42 if I got it after booking the cruise.
