Orlandorandall Posted December 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2017 We are leaving out of Port Canaveral and wanted to see what everyone else does for transportation to and from the airport and cruise terminal as well as any recommendations on a hotel that offers any transportation as well. Thanks in advance!!
easyboy Posted December 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2017 From airport to cruise terminal transfer, check Cortrans shuttle. http://www.cortrans-shuttle.com/ Sent from my iPhone using Forums
kmmtravel10 Posted December 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2017 I have used ACE transportation 3 times while going from MCO to Port Canaveral . Their drivers are great , and their vehicles are very clean and well kept . Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare dctravel Posted December 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2017 I second Cortans. We used them to return to the airport and they were great. We rented a car to get to the port and used the rental car shuttle to get to the ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Pyrate13 Posted December 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Another Cortrans fan here.
JohninDC Posted December 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Flying into MCO? Sanford? Melborn? Most will fly into MCO (Orlando); from there it is a 50-60 minute drive to Port Canaveral. We prefer to stay in Orlando, especially if our flight arrives later in the day, rent a car one way, and drive to the port the next morning. Drop off the car, ride the free shuttle to the port, and enjoy your cruise. If you have a large group you can drop them off with the bags and then return the car solo. Post cruise, unless your flight leaves after about 1:30-2:00 I would not bother with a rental car - just use one of the popular shuttle services. Have a great cruise!
Rneighh Posted January 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2018 JohninDC where do you rent your car from? We fly in the night before and need a hotel. It would be easier to just have a car. But are there rental terminal near the port?

JohninDC Posted January 24, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2018 We typically rent form Avis because of a corporate rate I qualify for, but shop around because all of the major agencies are in PC/Cocoa Beach and offer free shuttles to/from the port
Sea saw 56 Posted January 25, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 25, 2018 Is there a problem (other than cost) getting a taxi from an airport hotel to the port?
JohninDC Posted January 25, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 25, 2018 From MCO to PC is about an hour drive and the taxi will cost you well over $100  but otherwise you should have no issues. You can use UberX (good for 2-3 passengers and normal amount of bags) for about $60, you can rent a car one way, or you can use shared shuttle services for about $20 or so per person. Your call. ;)
Rneighh Posted January 25, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 25, 2018 We fly in the night before and are staying at the Comfort Inn Orland airport. Cortrans picks up there. The motel also has a free airport shuttle.
Nevada Jen Posted January 25, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 25, 2018 For us coming in the night before the easiest was to stay at Springhill suites by the airport. They have free shuttle to the hotel. You can then use contrans from either the hotel or the airport depending on your timing. Getting back from port is actually a bit trickier to plan. Shared taxi would have been cheaper than uber. The other option is to book the night before in port canveral. Hopefully someone will post the link for the stay and cruise site. Or you can Google it
Sea saw 56 Posted January 25, 2018 #14 Share Posted January 25, 2018 Thank you John, yes $100 for a taxi ride is steep! When using Cortrans, is it wise/necessary to reserve before getting to your pre-cruise hotel, or can you request to be on a morning shuttle at hotel check-in. We are looking at Double Tree Orlando Airport.
JohninDC Posted January 25, 2018 #15 Share Posted January 25, 2018 You are better off booking in advance (call today!) - in addition to Cortrans check Cocoa Beach shuttle and Travelynx; one of them might pick up at your hotel, saving you the trouble of catching the hotel shuttle back to MCO. Sophia67 Posted February 4, 2018 #16 Share Posted February 4, 2018 We used Cortrans from the airport to the Residence Inn on Astronaut Blvd. The hotel then had a shuttle service for transport to the port on cruise day. I think the shuttle was about $10.00 per person.
cteddiesgirl Posted February 4, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 4, 2018 We booked a hotel room for the night before with shuttle from airport to hotel, hotel to port and port to airport through goportcanaveral dot com. They deal with several big name hotels. Hotel we booked has shuttle from airport until midnight for late evening arrivals. I've heard several good reviews on other websites for this site. This is the fly, snooze, cruise program. They also have snooze, park, cruise packages.
