Liverpoolfan181 Posted December 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2017 I believe Lindbergh Bay/Emerald Beach is only a few minutes from Crown Bay. Emerald Beach Resort is recovering from Hurricane Irma and booking leisure guests as of Feb 1 2018, however the beach they sit on is now open. Close to airport. Happy Sailing! Liverpoolfan181 Posted December 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2017 Is it possible to walk there from Crown Bay port? Beach is free? Beach is free with chair and umbrella rental available close to Emerald beach resort. I would suggest a taxi which is about max 7- 10 min drive? Bar is open as well [emoji51][emoji482] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

blue_water Posted December 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2017 Many repeat visitors do walk with the shortcut but a taxi is highly recommended and cheap enough for a small group... For more amenities Magens Bay is the next closest, Coki and Sapphire are a little further and $11/pp taxi each way.

Rare Hlitner Posted December 31, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2017 Is it possible to walk there from Crown Bay port? Beach is free? Yes its possible (we have done it a few times) but we do not recommend doing the walk. You have to walk on the road (no sidewalks or even a safe barrier) up a steep hill, around the refinery, and then down to the beach (which is across from the airport runway). A taxi from Crown Bay is only $4 per person and you will be a lot safer then walking. The walk takes you around a blind curve where you are walking right along the road...and there is a real danger of being hit by a vehicle. The beach is open, but we are not sure if there is a functioning bathroom or porta potty. We asked a policeman (about 2 weeks ago) and even he was not sure. Ms411 Posted December 31, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 31, 2017 There are 2 routes to get to Emerald Beach. The other route is flat and sidewalk all the way. There is a small incline at one point but it's an easy walk.
racerxspeedy Posted January 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 7, 2018 (edited) Google maps shows you can walk along Veterans/Moravian HWY. There is a sidewalk on this main road - this is also the shortest distance 1.2mi Edited January 7, 2018 by racerxspeedy
