JimnSuzie Posted December 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Hello, Quick question. Will the bartenders give you a shot of any type of liquor? Since the drinks are pretty weak, my husband came up with the idea of one of us getting the drink and the other a shot of whatever liquor is in the drink, so that it is a "real" drink. Anyone ever do this before? Thanks!!!
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2017 The drinks are pretty much standard pours,,, not weak. But, you can always request a double or a shot. All subject to the $15 max.

PelicanBill Posted December 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2017 In addition, consider carrying a roll of $1 bills and frequenting specific bartenders. My drinks were plenty strong, long pours, and he kept switching my tequila up without being asked. I had a unique drink I favored, and he made it when I approached the bar without even being asked. It was fun to be treated like that. Bar waiters made sure to come around often to those who were tipping a little extra too.
LD Silver Posted December 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2017 I drink jack and diet cokes and the bartenders were making them in a tall glass so it tasted weak because there was so much soda in the drink. I started asking them to make them in a short glass and the problem was solved.
casofilia Posted December 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Tell the bartender exactly what you actually want to drink and ask if it is covered by the UBP.
boatseller Posted December 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2017 So, cocktails are mixed correctly. If you want them to lean on it, tell them. If you want a double, just ask for it. If you want just the liquor, make it neat. If you take care of your bartender(s), they will take care of you.

I agree, tip the first few times and they remember you....a smile and small talk about them can go a long way...
BeeeJay Posted December 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 25, 2017 completely agree with previous comments, in past years I noticed much stronger pours, seemed pretty weak at times on Escape earlier this month. I had the best luck tipping early in the cruise, not even tipping heavy, just anything, then they would take great care of me the rest of the cruise.
