Bodogbodog Posted January 11, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 11, 2018 .....probably playing with dolphins. Don't they have laws over there about playing with or getting close to the wildlife? - over here you have to stay a certain difference from dolphins and whales
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 11, 2018 #27 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Queen Charlotte Drive from Picton to Havelock is a very nice scenic route - if you like Mussels I hope you stopped at the Mussel Restaurant in Havelock - mussels prepared so many ways - but steamed is still my favourite No mussels there, too early but we had a lovely lunch at the Wither Hill winery (?) along with some delicious reds. Rare MicCanberra Posted January 11, 2018 #28 Share Posted January 11, 2018 I would say a whale in Akaroa harbour would be very unusual and decidedly lost...Plenty of dolphins though Thought they may be having a whale of a time on porpoise.:D

Nothing wrong with that option - although Marlborough is Sauvignon Blanc country - maybe a Pinot Noir caught your eye. Kiwis have found a lot of success with Pinot Not renowned for the heartier reds - some Cabs in Hawkes Bay and Auckland but not a patch on Coonawarra reds IMHO
