thecruisers6 Posted February 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Hi all, Looking for some knowledge on the sea state between New York and the Bahamas at the end of May. Having been scared half the death by 24 foot waves off Iceland last year I need to know! Thanks in anticipation Mark
mjkacmom Posted February 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2018 You just never know. We sailed from NYC last Memorial Day weekend, and had no issues down and back.
CruiserBruce Posted February 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2018 It could be rough, it could be calm, it likely will be somewhere in between. Seas are not predictable.
Rare Got2Cruise Posted February 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Most likely not. Hurricane season is later in the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2018 As mentioned you never know. Could be calm, a little rough or very rough. We hope for the best and prefer for the worst whenever we sail. In other words we take a room mid-ship and bring over the counter medicine to prevent nausea.
