We love the Sunshine! 19 DAYS !!!!!!!!!Let us know about the food good or bad.Enjoy

Good, if not great !

In my 15 Carnival Cruises, this ship has the most food options ever !

We just had a nice lunch on Deck 5 near the Red Frog pub that was awesome.

They will definitely not find my emaciated remains in my cabin because of starvation.

My family and I sail on the Sunshine in June. We are big soccer fans and the World Cup will be playing at that time. Can you go by the sports bar and ask them if they have Telemundo? (The Spanish broadcast rights are with Telemundo. English is on FS1, which I know the ship doesn’t carry.)

I haven't seen anyone in the sports bar at all.

The TV's are on, but there are no handles on the beer taps or bar ware behind the bar.

That being said. The 3 large screen TV's were tuned to:

ESPN, ESPN 2 and FS1

Following :):) I'm actually following because my son and his family are on this ship and I'm trying to see what's up with the weather! They wanted to take their little ones to St. Maarten so bad. Hopefully St. Kitts won't get cancelled. They want to see monkeys!

Honestly, the weather has been fine, just some swell waves.

And if the kiddies have seen me, they have seen a penguin !

Really? I’ve been on 5 different cruises and I’ve never seen FS1 in the sports bar before!! That really excites me!!

Bring an appetite ! They serve a great meal.

First nighters get a free bottle of wine, or 50% off a finer wine.

If you don't finish the bottle, you can have it sent to your dining table.

I'm sitting on my double balcony as we surf along.

The Captain gave his noontime update by saying we were sailing South in 12-15 foot swells that are coming from the North, so we are basically surfing.

When I look at the horizon and line it up with a fixed item, like a railing, I can gauge our motion and it's pretty cool.

Side to side is minimal, but looking towards the back of the ship, it's obvious we are going up and down.

I used this motion as an excuse for my 6-7 putts on the par 2 mini golf... Not that I'm that good anyways.

We did the steakhouse last night which was great as always, but they were really slow and dragged out the time between courses. Total time was almost 2 1/2 hours.

Which was actually great quality time with the family.

I had the flamin' tomato soup and salmon eggs Benedict at brunch this morning, which was as great as I remembered.

Just had a Guy's burger. The ringer. Which was just fine.

I'm a little disappointed that the only news on TV is the fake news channel, and its fake sub-channels, but the good internet has made up for it.

Speaking of the TV, I noticed there was a double outlet behind it, and I plugged in a multiple outlet tap for all my chargers. There is also a double outlet by the phone. Which I plugged in a small LED nightlight, and it throws the perfect amount of light to navigate that trip to the bathroom.

The roulette tables are only $5 minimum, compared to $10 minimum on the Magic last year, and the Glory the year before. And I'm even at the table, and have had some quality time there playing, and teasing the drinkers and smokers.

Music on the Lido has been great. Glad they turned down the volume from previous cruises. Nothing worse than shouting to people right next to you as your ears bleed.

More later.

We just returned and had a blast!! I agree with the fake news. I was actually surprised it was the only option. I hate the news anyway but that one is definitely not an option. We watched a lot of Lego Ninjago when we were in the room. Hilarious. This was our absolute best trip so far. The food was great, Emma was great, everything exceeded our expectations and we've cruised a lot.

As Emma would say... "Hello Lovelies !"...

We are just leaving St. Thomas right behind the Glory.

Today started with breakfast in the dining room. I've been dying to try the avacado toast on the new port day menu, and it did not disappoint. Yum.

Since we've been here several times. (And we are old farts) We got off around noon and slow walked to K-Mart to pick up a few necessities, then took a taxi downtown.

We had lunch at Crabbe's on one of the back streets and had very good coconut shrimp, fried plantains, mofongo and jerk chicken wings. Everything was excellent.

We walked around the tent shopping area, then taxied back to the Ship.

Probably sounds boring to everyone, but we are low energy, and my 89 year old Mother hoofed right along with us, so for us, we did just fine.

I noticed Senor Frogs is closed, and a lot of buildings had blue tarps on the roofs. One of our cab drivers said that things are slowly rebuilding and was happy to see us.

Too bad about Senor Frogs as it was always a source of great entertainment between the pier runners, boob flashers and wheelchair drunks. I can only hope that something fills the void.

I haven't seen any of the shows since they went to the playlist productions and I haven't seen any of the comedians either, because the casino has been good to me... so far.

San Juan tomorrow.

More later.

Campdaan,

What night was the first elegant night?

Let's see...

I got on Saturday, and elegant night was Sunday.

Don't know if the itinerary change had any effect on the schedule.

And in my last post, I said we were headed to San Juan today, when we are actually in St. Kitts... My bad.

How adorable!!!

That's Waddles our Cruise mascot.

Back when CruiseCritic used to do group cruises, I hosted a few cruises, and it was easier to tell people to look for Waddles, than the guy with the Hawaiian shirt and ball cap.

Since then, we bring him along and he still gets recognized, mostly by crew, who have given him a name tag and a few pins... So basically he's an honorary crew member.

This is the life...

Sitting on Serenity eating a Cuban sandwich and watermelon.

Today we skipped going ashore so we could enjoy the waterfall pool and hot tub.

Thanks for all the kind replies. I'm hoping to leave a bunch of good karma for the future cruisers, and thanks again to the past cruisers.

More later.

You picked a good week to cruise...your home area is getting up to a foot of snow thru tomorrow morning!! Happy sailing!!

So I heard...

I drive a wing plow for MassDOT.

My fill-in should get some OT, And I'll try to make up the difference at the casino.

Following, I'm on her Sunday 3/11. Ready to throw some dice! Gladd to hear the casino has been kind.

Thanks. You can pick up where I left off.

Don't know if it's kindness or dumb-ass luck.

I'm playing roulette on a moving ship. And I'm playing short money compared to my table mates who are tossing Benjamin's like confetti.

Ugh! The fake news is disappointing. We just got off the NCL Dawn and at least had our preferred news channel, but not much else to watch. Is there any TBS or TNT on the Sunshine? We just booked for an 8 day southern in Feb of 2019 and I'm beyond excited.

Sorry for the delay in continuing, but to be honest, I was just having too good a time.

In St Kitts, we stayed on the ship and ensconced behind the waterfall on Serenity, and in San Juan we walked around downtown for an hour. It was hot and humid and my 89 year old Mother was slowly chugging along, so we took it slow.

In Grand Turk, we did a Carnival excursion and booked the Catamaran, snorkel and beach adventure.

It was excellent.

When we gathered for the 3 1/2 hour excursion, they said that the snorkeling site was fogged in and the would extend the beach time, and if that wasn't satisfactory, you could get a full refund. Six people opted out.

Soooo... there was six less people while we motored along the shoreline, listening to beachy tunes, while the rum punch flowed.

They dropped anchor just off the shore, right by the washed up shipwreck, with the Sunshine in view.

We snorkeled, swam and they waded out to refill any empty cups. A memorable excursion, would repeat.

More later.

I do have a bunch to cover, my likes and dislikes, but I'm just home unpacking and recovering from missing 2 nor'easter's, which knocked out the power for 39 hours and littered the street with tree limbs.

I'm also gearing up for another batch of deep, wet snow.

It seems they missed me because I drive a wing plow for MassDOT.

This was an awesome Cruise, we are seriously looking into another 8-day on the Sunshine next year.

Stay tuned.
