Ancient Panoramas Cruise for October 2019 was changed!!!

We booked this cruise Barcelona to Athens. The website now shows it Monte Carlo to Athens skipping Barcelona all together! What???

Yes, the one before it was changed too, still goes to Barcelona but only as a Port stop. It's now Lisbon to Monte Carlo.

Life happens :) I suspect that there is a good reason for them doing it.

At least at this point nobody has bought non refundable airline tickets or made any plans that cannot be changed as opposed to changing it shortly before the cruise (which can happen as well for sound reasons).

Competition is pushing O to release cruises farther and farther in advance. Releasing cruises that far out pretty much assures schedule changes will occur. Here is a bet: O is going to start releasing 2020 cruises mid next month. Some of those cruises, over two years away will be altered in schedule or canceled due to charters.

They sent me an email that said it was due to berthing conflict. Hubby was looking online and saw flight time is only 90 minutes from Barcelona to Nice. And the cost seems to average about $55. So we will be able to spend a few days after all!

We were looking at this cruise for possible booking but decided against it when we researched the dates for the 3 days in Israel, October 13 - 15 is a major national holiday.

Our Oceania rep told us that the 2020 itineraries will be announced on April 18.
